If we clear £4 million……. (2 Viewers)

What position, &/or what player would you go for ?
The Gyokeres and Hamer money was spent before Lampard took over. Since then we have signed Grimes and KKH who both cost about what we will receive.....each. So we would still be showing a deficit of a few £million.

…it’s probably already been spent.

That’s not really how it works

The club at transfer neutral loses around £7 million a year. King is funding it and has allowed transfer surpluses to invest in wages and transfer fees. As long as this continues then the surpluses will be added to the playing budget

So how does it really work in your mind?

Most transfers are paid in installments. All terms are different of course but they still have to be paid on time. If you have 35m coming in and 35m going out the transfers are more or less covered. We have spent nearly 45m so a fair bit isn't covered.

That's how it really works.

We wouldn't spend the full amount, tbf if we kept the squad as it is and banked some of the Gyökeres money for strengthening in Jan if needed I'd be a happy man.

However as you asked, I'd want a winger who can play either side. Ta.

We’re not clearing 4m, we’ll receive less than 3.
We just don't know for sure. It has been said Brighton have already received their share but King mentioned something about still having to pay them.

We also don't know how much Arsenal will end up paying for him. It hasn't been the easiest transfer to keep following.

Brighton received their share of the original fee. But we still have to give them a share of any further money we receive, that’s how these clauses have to work.

Just like we’ll receive money if Sporting have a sell on clause in this deal.

It’s again not how clubs work. We cover operational losses via loans / investment

Was the Brighton clause 10%? If so they would be due approximately 350k depending on his next transfer.

Who said about how clubs are run? What do you know about our finances? Has King covered the last two transfers until the money comes back in after a player like MVE is sold?

My reply was to someone who thought we had this extra money coming in. We do but we're in arrears on transfers by quite a substantial amount. And unless your name is Doug King you won't know what he is willing to do.

I’ve read the accounts

You've got lots of brown stuff coming out of your mouth again.

So King has invited you around his house, showed you the latest accounts and has told you he has covered the last two signings and also told you he won't recuperate any of the last 2 signings out of the money we receive from anyonewe sell? Of course not. You're just as clueless as the rest of us.

This goes back a long time with us. This isn't anger. As you can see I'm as polite as I can be with him.

Before when I said about how bad my mental health was he was one of those who saw it as a green light to try and send me over the edge. Now it won't work. Take a look back. All I said in reply to someone was we don't know what's going on with finances because we don't. Strangely enough he does know. I can go back and show you the constant attacks if you like. And each time he then goes quiet when put on the spotlight.

Thats sweet but come on mate.... its Grendel.... he lives, eats and breathes this sort of combative stuff ....it the fuel for his very existence. Not a thick tub thumper and uses a lot of deflection and avoidance of answering questions like a politican but he loves a good verbal brawl. Not sure he will appreciate you defending his corner as not sure he is really the sort to feel such love, warmth and devotion from a fellow SBT-er.

Club's bring in more TV revenue than ever, we also have a playing squad with quite a few assets. I agree with other posters the next couple of signings are likely to be loans and ideally I would like to see a GK in until Christmas to offer the defense a rock solid platform and a pacy direct winger who can just as easily play off both wings. EMC and Saka are both more skillful and tricky in terms of their playing style and a direct option would be a great option.

Yep that's how I see it. Do we have adequate back up for Sakamoto and EMC. Without putting BTA or Haji out wide?
Other than that a No 1. We could take our chances on Wilson and hope Dovin is back before Xmas

How can anyone accurately predict the figure we'll get without knowing the end sale price? Turner saying it's 3.48 someone else 3.87 another over 4 ...

The fee as stated many times is: Sale fee, less £20m received x 10% and we then lose 15% of that to Brighton.

As an example, if he goes for £65m, then £65m - £20m = £45m x10% = £4.5m x 85% = £3.83m but until the sale fee agreed it's all guesswork as to what we'll receive.
