If our team is so poor why do... (2 Viewers)

So many teams want our players?

Keogh, craine, clingan, Thomas, Juke?? You don't see teams around us with players linked as much as ours...

That's why I hate it when fans say we have the worse team in the league. If that was true surely no-one would want our players?

Good point. I have always said we have some good players here. Just not enough of them.

But all the teams linked are playoff contenders going for promotion... Doesn't matter about cheap. They must rate them to want them?

The problem is apart from juke the rest are defensive players, our attacking players aren't good enough.

January transfer window isn't about buying quality players at their peak, it's about vultures circling above the dead and the dying picking off anything worth having. The promotion pushing sides are only interested in keeping competition for places and keeping the squad fresh during the closing stages of the season.

Roll on league one and administration. I can't wait for this season to be over.

McShuffty is good enough for this division. So too Juke. We don't have enough depth up front though.

not being funny but if you sat on fansites for Millwall, donny, forest etc you would probably have the same amount if not more players linked elsewhere.....

Hang on... Correct me if I'm wrong but Once Juke's transfer is made permanent it will be the biggest transfer fee between two championship teams in this window?

Also wait till end of the season and see how many of our players will be playing in the championship next season. I reckon 4 or 5 at least will be

thats one player mate, doesnt mean we have world class players does it??

If we stay up we would have 11 players playing in the championship, whats your point???

If we stay up???? You been on the pop today mate? We've got no chance of staying up...

My point is, fans say Thorn has no tools. But next season half of the team who played for us this year will be playing championship football next year. They can't be that bad eh.

Basically I don't rate thorn as a manager yet fans love using the excuse we have no good players. I beg to differ

joking aside, i agree to a certain point but i would say we have sold one of the 3 that will not longer be with us come next year thats all.

Next year... Craine, clingan, keogh, juke and maybe wood will be playing in higher league then the city. That's near enough half of the team mate. Says alot to me.

The problem is platt, rod, Cody, eastwood, Jeffers, baker, bell aren't.

Odd bell and baker got new contracts and glowing comments off thorn. Thorn signed McDonald. What are you saying, he doesn't know a good player when he sees one?

Exactly... Thorn recommended baker and bell. Ill give him credit he knows a average league 1 player when he sees one. Add hussey to that list too

The next post from rich or stu will say sisu tortured thorn until he said nice things about bell and baker and threatened his family unless he signed McDonald. He is the man who does no wrong. He has subjected me to torture all season.

And players like bell, baker McDonald and ROD were recommended or bought in by Thorn.

The big point here is the wankers have sold our best player for probably peanuts the rest of the team have got an average of one goal each and you still think Thorn has got something to work with. Don't be a muppet.:jerkit:

Most probaly yeah... But the point is these are championship players so why do fans think we have a poor team? We don't, we have a poor manager who can't get the best out of these players

I think it's clear that the board offered the new deals in order to increase the asset value of the squad on the balance sheet. What is thorn supposed to say " oh deluded gave then contracts but I think they're garbage?"

Re: Cody - My reckoning is that AT gave the board a top 5 list, they made enquiries and went for the cheapest. We clearly tried to get le Fondre first.

Any way the OP of this thread was saying that we have loads of players that championship clubs want, but like I said now juke has gone they are defensive type players, our attacking players are not good enough.

Haha don't be a muppet? Behave eh.

Thorn has plenty of players who are good enough for this league but he can't get the best out of them! Our options going forward are poor but didn't he recommend half of them? Bell baker McDonald?

Yes I feel sorry for Thorn but he's not blameless and the argument he has no tools is bollocks.

Oh and Norwich had some incriminating photo's of KD in his mankini and blackmailed him into buying Cody......;o)

He could say nothing. That's what his nonsense remarks amount to anyway. Name one positive thing he has done this season that gives you confidence he is a good manager.

Shoot me if you want to, but should have had a go in Bristol's Clarkson. Affordable and good enough for one season...

Thorn won't go anywhere. SISU love him and the majority of the fans love him. Would you leave a job where your performance was irrelevant?

I have never been photographed in a mankini. Is there no depths you wont plummet to defend Thorn!

What i would like to ask AT is if he had more money would these players be his number one target? Of course they wouldn't. He doesn't have any options and he probably can't afford to lose his job. Yes he probably gets paid a lot more than the average worker but in football terms he must get paid peanuts so he can't say what he really wants to. AT has been left with the scraps that nobody else wants and he has not been good enough to make average players into top players. How many managers can?!!!!!

Yes, the players other teams are interested in are Championship standard but the rest of the squad is distinctly below that level.

You cannot avoid relegation with half a team.
