I just read Leeds are in for Forssell (OK hes old, but surely he'd a good signing for a Championship team) and Ishmael Miller signed for Forest!

I was just using these players as examples. I didnt see the price Forest played. But it does suggest that if you want something enough, you can get it, albeit sometimes at a cost.
