Yeah, The Ruts were great. There were some great bands around that time: The Lurkers, TV21, Skids. All better than the Clash, I reckon.

All those too. It was great being a 14/15 year old at that time. I'm going to play One Chord Wonders tonight followed by Wednesday Week and Whip It!

BBC 4 had a documentary about TV Smith and the Adverts a few weeks ago.

I used to fancy Gaye Advert back then.

XTC are my favourite ever band. I had them in my head all day at work after Torchie nominated them earlier for "What Till Your Boat Goes Down"

I should probably nominate their side-project "Dukes of Stratosphere", track "You're My Drug".
