I can only think of 'One Direction' at the moment.

Coldplay;

Boring to watch, tedious to hear speak, responsible for the slow suicide of thousands of people.

Sigue Sigue Sputnik.

A singular success in the mid-eighties....then faded to nothing...

... ultimately shit, & a bit of a joke.....now only remembered by blokes of a certain age....

Rancid? [Spunge]?

Hopefully "Rise Against"

If Marlon King were a band he'd be Carter USM.

I went to see them once in London. It was an...experience.

I am one of those blokes. And I am a space cowboy, a 21st century whoopee boy, if truth be known.

I saw them at Lanchester Poly, around 1985 i think, abdolute shite, just miming, the lead singer Martin Degville got bottled on stsge and had to have about 7 stitches I think.

The support act, Black Elvis 2000 was good though.

Thankfully I never saw Sigue Sigue Sputnik......In the mid-80's I was too consumed with 3 musical passions:

1. wallowing in my own teenage angst whilst listening to the Smiths
2. Getting all political & angry while lsitening to The Redskins
3. Wanking myself sore over Wendy James of Transvision Vamp.

How about Starship? Growing out of two earlier incarnations in the 1960s and 1970s, they hit the heights of Number 1 in May 1987 with 'Nothing's going to stop us now'. They flickered again dimly and briefly in the 1990s, but now seem to have slipped out of public consciousness.

The band would have to be Status Quo as its been like this now for fucking years and the song obviously Down Down.

Oh I'm off to put a Smiths track on followed by some Radiohead to cheer myself up.

Black Sabbath - performing Paranoid

I need someone to show me the things in life that I can't find
I can't see the things that make true happiness, I must be blind

With anxiety, our season is burning, our season is burning

RIP Malcolm, I remember him dying when I was at school.
