As amazing as the Emerites is, its completely disconnected with the locals. All around it was poverty and drugs. There's no way the locals could afford their ticketing let alone the beer and pies. Football has been stolen and now steals from the working class.
Just got my beloved Packers on in the NFL just nowAmerican sports are just too saturated with commercialism for the UK market-could you imagine many people here being happy with adverts every 10 seconds?
You mean like watching the ITV coverage tonight ,Advert after bleedin Advert.

The sooner the FA Cup returns to the BBC the better.

The trouble is even at a minimum 50 quid a ticket and approaching a £100 at some London grounds they are sold out and although £50+ per game is steep it's about the cost of a West End show such Les Mis, Lion King or Phantom. I have just paid £55 for Lion King tickets on in Brum in August, £50+ has become the going rate for top events I was told tickets for the World darts were £45, trouble with footie fixtures come round every week, sometimes twice a week.
How much do you think present owners SISU would charge per match ? With an away end that holds 6000+ at 40/50 quid a ticket and full most games thats a minimum quarter of a million revenue per match, cash, for away tickets only plus the home tickets
Been saying it for a few years now, ITV's coverage of anything sport related is a joke!
Yeah, but when you go to see the Lion King or Les Mis or Phantom you know you are going to be entertained and you know it will be high quality.
How many quality games have we had this season here at the Ricoh? Okay, so it's £20+, but very few of those games have been worth the money.
£50 to go and watch a depressing struggle and then come home frustrated and saddened?
Can get that on the street corners of Hillfields and that's only £18 (apparently).
Completely agree Willie. I too noticed how odd the Emirates looked in such a run-down neighbourhood. I used to live near Highbury in the '70's and it was still more or less just the local club then.
Murdoch and Sky have slimed themselves between football and the fans and the clubs have colluded with them to rip off supporters. Without the fans the game would be nothing - they're the free 'extras' that create the atmosphere in the show the Premiership (it sticks in my gullet to use that word) flogs all round the world every week. Football, before it was stolen by shits in suits, was the creation of England's now-despised working class, nobody else, and they were often sneered at by their 'betters' at the time. And now, like much of what's left of our industry, these fantastic old clubs have been largely handed over to a bunch of criminal third world thugs, who we're all supposed to admire and wish to emulate simply because they've made themselves obscenely rich by plundering their countries' natural resources. Rant over - but these people make me puke.

Many many Premiership clubs charge close to or over a £1,000 for an ST.
Just can't see me paying that.

To be fair, I saw Gareth Gates in Les Mis in 2011... That pretty much sums up the evening!
I was looking through the Spurs programme today and found proof of a tweet a I had seen the other day... 'Norwich charge £50 for an away ticket'.
Norwich to me is a Championship stadium, I'd never pay £50 to visit Carrow Road.
Sadly, for 90% of us on this forum, watching the Sky Blues in the Premier League would be just too much.
Would anyone really pay £58 to visit WHL?
I wonder what the reaction would be if we made the prem and the club started charging 6 times the average price for a season ticket£500-600 is still a lot of money for 19 games - £26.30 - £31.60 per match.
Thanks for that inputYou won't be welcome - just because you don't have your own ground doesn't mean you can smash ours up.
