just out of curiosity, does anybody actually think we will have a good season ahead of us,i.e. maybe challenging for promotion or very least playoff's,with the emabrgo lifted and players coming in and with this current regime still in place.just need abit of hope, not alot to ask is it?

I think the embargo will get lifted. I think they will sign 4 free transfer players. I think this will give us a team that at full strength with no injuries will compete with anyone.

Then when we get injuries, we will again have no decent back up and will fall away and will be lucky to stay up.

If they prove me wrong and sign 7 free transfers we will have an outside chance of the play offs.

Anything more and if we don't get in the play off that will be a failure.

The question is in light of all the players going, the dramatic drop in wages and the transfer fees coming in, is expecting 7 free transfers really unrealistic?

I think it is quite reasonable

As things stand 1 free transfer is asking too much. I see next seasons games having to be stopped for 5 mins in first half so our kids can have a drink of milk or Um Bongo and then for 15 mins in second half so they can have an afternoon nap with their blankies and teddies.

It's not as simple as 'sign 7 and all will be wonderful'. The players coming in need to be capable of bedding in and performing-and that's far from a given.

Lower-mid table is my prediction. I think the youngsters (should they stay) are too good to go down, providing we sign some (any) players to replace those that have left, but no way we'll be challenging at the top.

Keogh, Crainie, Clingan, Juke should have been too good to go down from the Championship. Having a few good youngsters is not really good enough is it.

I got asked yesterday if i think we will go up, I couldn't really answer them as i'm not sure what to expect this season. I always have the hope that we will do well but as for expectations i will just see what CCFC can bring us.

It is all very depressing atm, I'm afraid I only see another season of struggle. In my opinion predictions of promotion/play-off challenge are optimistic in the extreme. With no sign of the embargo being lifted in the near future, and I am sure the club would say if the accounts were going to be submitted soon, as this would do a lot to help with season ticket sales, I simply don't see how we can get any quality or the number of players required to get a squad that can compete

Think we'll end up mid table. The league may not be the best, but it's going to harder for us then some think.
