I don't want to support SISU - but i don't want to kill CCFC either... (1 Viewer)

I don't want SISU here, I think most agree with this and I have contacted the league, signed petitions, tweeted, facebooked ect...like most on this forum, I do not want to move from Coventry...but as the season draws closer, and the fixtures are out I am considering this, if I boycott games and merchandise ect, am I not in fact contributing the the death of the club? If we did manage to financially starve SISU out what would then happen to our club, could we be the people that finally kills off our club? Could we be liquidated? Gone forever? I am concerned and now all the dust has settled and its clear SISU/Otium are here for now...what do I do, I feel they have called our bluff almost, we are all in the position of support the club and we might get out of this or don't and who knows what will happen...does anyone else on here feel like ? is is your defiance wavering? I am staring to feel guilty if I do not support the club in its hour of need...I am just being honest about how I really feel and dropping all the bluster, its time to have a serious think on how I am going to deal with this.

The problem is, that very few trust SISU, and nobody has a clue as to what they really want to do, this is due to lack of transparency.
If there was trust and a detailed way forward, then it would be easier to make a decision on whether to jump on the train or turn your back.

agreed but while we are waiting and not supporting them the club could die, I just want my club to survive long enough for someone to by us...that means going to games buying kit ect...?

I dont think the club will die. No one wants that, its more about forcing sisu into realising its game over for them. Someone will always buy us.

Support CCFC. That's all you need to do.

Don't be pro-Sisu or pro ACL or anti either of them. Just be pro CCFC.

Personally though, as a pro CCFC advocate I would never go to watch them play home games some 30 miles away. To take the club 30 miles from their home away is a very anti CCFC thing for anyone to do.

I have agreed with your comments, but not so sure now - I think SISU are here to stay until either they sell us or liquidate us, and by not supporting the team we are adding to latter happening surely? we in the eyes of business law have new owners, shouldn't we all support the club this would make the business look more attractive to any investor?

How long will it take though?
They are here for the long run - as long as it takes to build an asset base worth selling. Fisher said 10 years to emphasize their long term commitment.

In the meantime if we starve the club of income it will only serve to deplete the player budget and the abillity to field a competitive team. It won't sway sisu from building a new stadium as that is their only chance to actually regain their investment.
In the three year groundshare they will set aside enough funding to cover the clubs losses - whether there will be 3000 or 5000 through the gates it won't effect their plans, only the budget Pressley will have to work with.

I started the post to ask how others felt, not to slag anyone, I am a bit confused over all of this and torn TBH, I don't want SISU as most on here - but I do want to lose CCFC like all on here - your views are yours and are as valid as anyone else on here, whether I agree with them or not.

They'd be able to sell whatever they own and get the cash for that.

Admittedly not much, but there's largeish piece of land in Warwickshire for a start.

Don't think liquidation isn't a very real possibility out of all this, it is.

The recent events have shown sisu are not selling. They have build a tall debts wall to protect against hostile takeovers. Hoffman can wait in the wings all he wants, but he should have learned his lesson by now.

Its a very difficult one, but some fans made did not go up last season and even if they played at Ricoh some would still not go while SISU run the club.
We all have our own views, it does feel like they have divided the support and know that some fans will give in and foillow the team wherever. I agree that people are waiting in the wings and if one of them maded an offer to buy SISU would be sill not to accept.

It is very obvious that SISU do not care about us at all, you make your choice but my family and I will NOT be watching the City at home next season if not in Coventry

So you have evidence to show that the club will not use the maximum player budget allowed under FFP? Please show me!
They did last season - they are planning to do it this season.
The player budget in 2014/2015 will be determined by the income in the next season.

And for the management fee's - they are an instrument to move cost around the whole group. Not used to lift out cash to sisu.

I'd say it's people who stick their head in the sand and blithely think the club will survive regardless are as bad as SISU. Isn't that what they're saying?

I do know where your coming from, but look at it from another angle.
The Ricoh is there, waiting and hopefully ready for a team to play at. All SISU need to do is talk to ACL and agree a deal of some sort, its obvious that ACL will want to get this sorted.
If our owners cared about the fans Mr Fisher or AN Other would be on there knees begging to use the Ricoh, the point being they just do not care and they think that a lot of fans will give up on principles and follow the team anywhere.
Now I am just your avarage garage bod but even I can start questioning where they they will get the money for a new stadium? If it was ever built who would own it, not CCFC as the investors would want there cut. Then ask who would give planning permission in Coventry and how long would it take ?
We do need to try and stick together and put pressure on Joy Sappala to get rid of Fisher or even saell for what ever she can, also pressure the FL to tell SISU to play games at Ricoh.

what a refreshing post. It's about time people on here actually discussed this.

I know when the club announced it was looking at another potential venue to play at for the next three seasons we all said I'm not following in them, CCFC belong in Coventry etc.

I think a lot of people just couldn't believe it would be a possibility as the fans would never allow it.

Now we are at the stage where the club are not listening to the fans and what they want so some people are considering swallowing their pride and following our Sky Blues next season.

The main reason being that it is for the good of the club. With the new FFP rules coming in then yes our budget this season will be OK but the following three where little to to no income is made so cannot be put back into the club we are going to struggle to compete. Under these circumstances relegation at least once is a distinct possibility.

The other option as hard as it is would be to support our club and give them a fighting chance.

Its all well and good having campaigns like 'not one penny more' and 'save our city' but are these really going to help long term?

At the end of the day the only way for any of this to change is for a buyer to come in, pay way over the odds for a football club who's only assets are the badge, the name and the staff contracts. Then to do a deal with the Ricoh when they have secured the club. Is this likely? No.

Going back to Rev original point, as hard as it is this is looking more and more like the reality and nobody is going to be judged for changing their mind and supporting their ubiquitous especially if it's to help them in the long term.
