Well, happens a lot to me but this is really puzzling.

The last few days the forum has been absolutely flooded with three kinds of posts:
1) Juke will be off today - fact!
2) We won't get any loan signings, only lots of excuses and more lies - fact!
3) Sisu are doing whatever neccesary to deliberately destroy the club - fact!

Friends of friends, journalist friends, people playing roulette with Hoffman, people knowing friends of players have been quoted massively. And it were all fact!

Of course all these facts get to me (and probably a few others, but I guess that the intention). Somebody spend a thread wishing the club would be dissolved so a new shiny AFC Coventry could emerge, rather than being relegated to league 1.

But despite all these facts ... Juke is still here, a loan signing has walked in and sisu wasted the chance to pocket some money (instead the spend some).
In addition the loan signing is not what facts would have it: He's an exciting player - a midfielder even - who can score goals. A player so exciting a Villa fan comes on here and actually wish us good luck and hope we win on Saturday and even stay up come the end of the season.

Looks like the chairman has actually proven he knows a little bit about football. But of course it is all a desceptive scheme to appease the fans until sisu pulls the plug in January.

We had this panic before the closing of the last window but the worrying thing is what effect is all this constant speculation having on Juke? Why did Ken not just come out and say he's not going anywhere and then be able to turn around and say "see I said he wasn't going and he hasn't" - that might start to buy him some credibility. As it is I am sure I and many others will have fingers crossed that come 5pm Juke is still a City player. The loan signing is Ok and potentially interesting, shame its not the experienced head we could do with and its a kid but beggars cannot be choosers. Its SISU's disdain towards the fans that does them no favours - tell us what's going on, deliver on those promises and maybe we might start believing in you and not constant rumours.

Not all have stated as fact. People have opinions. So we get one loan player in. I'm happy that we've done that but it certainly does seem like a bit of a tactic to appease the fans considering it was talked about we need experience. Like I said, I'm happy we have brought someone in but I stand by my recent eureka moment - SISU are not doing a good job. If they were we'd be quite a few places above where we currently are in the table. And if we're gauging it on money and investment, that is probably even worse.

Rumours are often touted as facts - we are no different than anyone else in this respect. At CCFC they are siezed on because of the lack of information from the club. If the board/owners were open, transparent and honest (as they have said they will be) then rumours would be dismissed as what they are - rumours, not facts.

I never once said that what Gary Hoffman said was a FACT. I was only letting our fans know what he said and it is up to you to form your own views.

I actually agree with you Godiva, I think I would've settled for the outcome of where we are today (Gardner in, Juke staying) but don't quote people sharing stories as hard facts.. when they were never claiming to be.

I hear you Harvey, but at the moment it really isn't the board letting us down. It's ourself. We create all sorts of threads with the sole intention of blaming everything bad on the owners. It's now a runaway train impossible to stop and no matter what the owners decide, do or say it won't make a difference. Even good news - like todays loan signing - is immidiately bounced with negative remarks (only 1 month, no experience etc).

Nobody - and I mean nobody - has tried to build a bridge to the owners or the board. There must come a time where we accept they don't have more money, they've used 30 milions already and there are no more to come. A time to accept that the club must turn profitable - no matter who owns it - before we can see a brighter future. A time to give some serious thought to any new ideas and not just rubbish them automatically.

I do understand what you're saying. I just think they're reputation has been so badly damaged that if we signed Messi, people would say we need more height because nothing they will do from here will redeem themselves for the majority of fans.

I am prepared to have sisu in our club, if they work to the best interests of CCFC. It is hard to argue that they have in the past.

The trouble with this point in particular is that we have been waiting for this loan signing for months, so expectation builds and when its a player that very few have seen play it is always going to be questioned.

Reputations aren't tarnished for no reason either, it's just a matter of how far you take it personally. I haven't taken anything they've done personally, I know what they're doing is just business. But I think that's the problem, they've realised owning a football club will not make them money - the primary reason they got into it. Another opinion of mine is that the club can't be self-sustainable under them for various reasons, the main one being the stadium issue.

I'd disagree with the building bridges also. We put our money into the club and have supported the team over however many years. I don't care about constant dialogue with the fans, but broken promises and lies don't exactly shout out "we want your support". Now, a few weeks ago I emailed the SCG regarding the "supporters day" - this is "a direct route through to the Coventry City boardroom". I didn't get a reply, not even an acknowledgement.

So yeah, I'm happy we've got what looks to be a really good loan signing and I'm happy we've kept Juke but I think to try and blame some of the owners short-comings on the fans is a tad harsh.

Godiva - Gardner is a welcome addition and at this time any help is gratefully accepted however he is a short term sticking plaster on a haemoraging artery. Whilst I accept there are some who have SISU down as the devil incarnate I am simply of the school who fail to understand how they intend to make our club successful on and off the pitch. As far as I can see they are cutting costs and cutting costs, what we have on the pitch is a disaster and we are heading for Div One, then revenues will decrease even further and we will have more cost cuts and so the downward spiral will continue. These people are not willing to speculate to accumulate and if they are not then they should stop this constant pointless fruitless search for investment and seriously start looking for a buyer. They have to accept that they have made a complete mess of things and be willing to write off a large percentage, just as the people they got the club off had to. They more than anyone should know investments go down as well as up. Their constant dire PR and lack of openness etc, Chairmans arrogant attitude and their general view of fans as either something to be milked or despised. I don't much care who owns the club and happy for them to make money out of the club but only if the club is successful, success on the pitch is paramount after all isn't that the purpose of any football club?

Jan, I think my viewpoint is a bit different from yours. I think the disaster was Ranson and his regime. Sisu trusted him (their fault) to run the club and he didn't deliver, yet ended up spending all the money available. The new regime is from March this year and without money it is difficult to summon up miracles.
Lies - well, I may be naive, but I don't think they have ever told a deliberate lie. They certainly don't hold any masters in communication and too many voices have been telling different stories - but still I don't think anyone told a blatant lie. If they are in talks with investors and think they are on the right track and say they are optimistic, it may not be a lie even when talks break down and the potential invstors pull out. Could be they lost interest due to the protests. If they say they are trying to sign players it may not be a lie if nobody show up. It may be players don't wanna come here or their wages are too high. (I will keep out the rest of the 'lie-list' as I am sure you understand what I mean).

We don't usually require openess about club finances or long term strategies and supporters forum was until recently about the team and progress on the field. Likewise the owners are not used to be confronted with demands from fans wanting to know every little detail about the economy and how the last pound was spend. That stuff is boardroom stuff and not something corporations want to discuss openly.
But I think this is where the board now has to stand up and communicate direct and honest. They have for long told their strategy is to get the club to stop bleeding money and live within its means. Then to acquire the stadium. Then get promoted and become what we once were. They have said it many times in many different versions. Yet we don't really hear it. The board needs to hold a meeting and address the strategy and the finance situation without mixing it up with team or manager stuff. Then they need to take questions and answer them with patience. They won't get questions they have not already answered in one way or another so it shouldn't be difficult.

Let's face it - they are not going away any time soon - unless they get an offer they can't refuse. So we should bridge the gap and start work together. This war is destoying us.

Genius PR really, isn't it? Not doing something terrible is not akin to actually doing something good. Yet that's how it's perceived by some simply because we've been reduced to an expectation of worst case scenario. Think about the Turner sale: people were so relieved to see Lukas stay that they didn't even moan about the outrageous under-selling of a passionate home-grown talent who didn't want to leave-indeed, he signed a 3 year contract then never played again for us!

This is akin to finding out that SISU are not murderers, but "only" rapists.

How on earth can you claim to support CCFC yet believe that the Tanned Tosser is doing a good job or knows anything about football? Based on WHAT?!? Could you possibly explain his fantastic achievements to me? Maybe then I'll consider it. Nah, I won't, I'll just laugh that anyone can be such a lickspittle that they get their kicks by proving it to everyone else in public.

This is where I choose to be naive (yes, its a choice I make) and think that the board is new, they have agreed on the strategy: Setup meeting with council, go for the 50% option. Maybe (just maybe) they decided to try to get the meeting on said Friday and the chairman actually thought the meeting was confirmed. In that case he didn't lie. This is roughly what I think happened. Does it make the board look professional, structured and organized? No, definately not. That may be amaturish but not a blatant lie.

I fail to see why the chairman would state as a fact a meeting was setup if he knew differently - he would have known for sure somebody would find out and make him stand out as a liar.

As it stands people have a choice to believe he deliberatly lied or that he somehow got his information wrong.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion and should be respected for it, but my problem with SISU is the growing list of people and organization that are coming out being very negative towards them its becoming very serious..

RR, G Robinson, Hoff, Joe Elliot, R Keys have there own reasons but the worrying ones are ACL, Council and Higgs trust. These may not be liked but they all cant be wrong and these have had more inside knowlegde than anyone else and that makes me decide that these are not good people or have the clubs interest at heart....
