Hussey - Undeserved bad press (1 Viewer)

Stephen Carr only got into the position of doing that to Hussey because McSheffrey was wandering off into centre mid, whenever we lost the ball, he was nowhere near the wing so Stephen Carr could just get up some speed to take on Hussey.

I blame McSheffrey, I rate Hussey, he's a good player.

What be forget is that he has McShefferey there to help him, who, in his words is "the worst defender in the league". Having to defend against Stephen Carr and Chris Burke is going to be a difficult task for any left back. Even the best in the world.

Some blues fans that I'm friends with were saying that he is quality and one of out best performers against Brum down the left wing, Behind Clingan and Bigirimana. I've always said he's quality and will be our best player in the coming seasons. Especially if Clingan leaves at the end of this season.

I wouldn't worry. It's a reflection of where we are that with only a few exceptions criticism has been shared around many. Our weak team/squad is constantly exposed and many views polarised on who is and isn't performing and where the blame lies. We all know that we require a goalscorer and that is not simply papering over the cracks as when (if) one arrives, a lot of these nit-picking criticisms will evaporate.

I think we should just blame Bell and McShreffrey. Disgrace.

Don't know too many who'd disagree.

Attacking wise, McSheffrey looked miles better on Saturday but defensively he's about as useful as the squirrel against Leicester (damn that squirrel was cool!)

Hussey is a great player - I really rate him highly. Sure he's young, but he's already v.good and will improve.

I too thought Hussey was very good saturday and is one of the few players who can hold his head up so far this season and will only get better in my opinion.
As people have already said he was left completely exposed by the ill disipline of Mc Sheffrey, who never tracked back and for most of the game he seemed that he could'nt be bothered at all,though Bell's performance made him look like Neymar.

Definately... Hussey will only improve. A top signing... one which I didnt quite understand at the time but you live and learn. The likes of Hussey, Fox, Dann, Westwood, Keogh should really put to bed the old saying of "buy lower league and that's where you're headed"

Although there is a case for Carl The Bake and co for a counter argument.

Weren't we playing in a diamond formation? The problem with it is that you don't have wide midfielders to track back and protect the full-back, that's the main flaw. The reason why McSheffrey wasn't tracking back was because he wasn't deployed in the right position to protect Hussey and he was wandering off into midfield because....THAT'S WHERE THORN TOLD HIM TO PLAY!!!

No we weren't playing The diamond. We played a 4-2-3-1 formation. Pm Dawn and Sammy holding, Sheffers wide left, bell end wide right and rod behind the juke. A new formation that Thorn was very happy with apparently! I thought it was far too negative personally. Mcsheffrey can't defend when out wide, bell can't do anything when played out wide, that was alot of the problem I think.

He's a young player he can only improve he needs our support.

Chris Hussey is still the one to watch - a young player getting better as games accrue - could eventually turn out to be one of the best LB's since we came down.

Let us not pick on him at this stage of his career - give him max encouragement and he will get even better.

It is actually great formation imo if you can play it right, shame are 3 attacking midfielders that played are absolutely pants. :facepalm:

Coventry fans always have to have a scapegoat of some sort. The problem is when they target one he is usually a decent player, while the real crap are lauded as great players.

Jay Bothroyd, talented & skilful but a bit young and raw. He needed patience and support but was treated like crap.

Richard Shaw, awful player, awful 1st touch, failed to dominate in the air, yet goes down as a City legend.

Couldn't agree more, to be honest. I really don't understand the constant abuse of McSheffrey and Bell, but there you go.

One thing that struck me was when we played Blackpool at the Ricoh...Andy Morrell scored and he was clapped (yes clapped) by our fans after he'd done so. That sums it up to me really and so I really shouldn't be surprised by the attitude of some.

Why would you have RR back in charge in club of the club? Honestly?

He didn't do a very good job of running it which is why he was removed in the first place.

For a so called "football and business man", he managed to appoint two of the most anti-football managers we've ever had, presided over a club, that it appears has increased it's losses whilst eroding it's fan-base, and never knowingly told the truth.

He was the man who found and got into bed with Sisu, so either he knew what they were like and therefore has no recourse to complain when they act to type, or he didn't know what they were like and therefore showed a huge lack of judgement and lack of research.

He tried to take over Southampton with the backing of SISU(How stupid they were and how lucky we were seemed to be the consensus when they turned them down), also failed in bids for Aston Villa and Manchester City(Don't know who the backers were for those).

He has certainly got the Reverse Midas touch for clubs:

Turn him down and not touch with a bargepole = Billionaire owner will turn up.

Welcome him with open arms = Increasingly poor owners and football.

As for Ken, another Sisu puppet, and have no trust for Hoffman yet, all smoke and mirrors at the moment, though of course he is with Teflon Joe which makes it alright, as he's never been associated with any tainted regime at the club in the past.
