Soyou could – in theory – hold this proposed Cup tie (supposing Northampton gotthrough to the third round and then drew Manchester United) at the Ricoh aslong as your proposed equestrian or other proposed events weren’t taking placeat the same time? I used “proposed” alot there, didn’t I?

If that tie ever happened they would be better off playing it here at the Ricoh. Subject to any prior bookings or Equestrian events.

Why Northampton? Why not Walsall? Even Cheltenham? How about Birmingham City as the Ricoh has a larger revenue potential?

Or has Italiahorse finally agreed by his silence he is talking utter tripe?

Northampton was an example. My silence is because I've been to the pub.

Torchmatic.

I see you are on the ball here.
The equestrian event will be during the extended summer window.
Are you interested in the Scheduling Managers position in the new enterprise?

........................ or the buyer does not have to sell because they have rescheduled a loan and found alternative business opportunities. The arena which was only used for 25 days a year now has a bigger summer window for other non sporting events and prestige minor internationals, rugby matches etc. Perhaps rent out to smaller midland teams for major matches say Northampton Vs Man Utd in FA Cup.

In addition new proposals for development of car park C for 2 hotels and large indoor exhibition hall and movement of major agricultural shows, steam/car/showjumping festivals into the arena.,

With the 125k a year ccfc rental revenue lost and related f&b profits of £120k ACL are happy for ccfc to move on.

Nightmare scenario ? Watch this space !!!

If that is true then the Arena can return to Football one day even if SISU talk themselves out of the venue.

We didn't own that in the end ether remember sold it to developers for 3 million. would have had to spend millions on it to make it safe as the westend was deemed unsafe

Ah, but that's the rub, isn't it? The Club will never own it. And I imagine even if SISU walked away and someone else took us over The Club still would not own the stadium.

We lost that when HR was bulldozed.

Why do people respond to Grendel's jousting in this way? He does this time and time again. 'Prove to me an Arena income stream'; an then proceeds to pull apart anything placed before him for his consideration.

Unless you've all missed out; ACL is seemingly thriving. It's non-football income streams are increasing year on year.

You don't have to throw various hypothesis for Grendel's 'expert' appraisal. These incomes are being generated right now.

Let me turn it on its head: Grendel, what's wrong with ACL's signed accounts as a going concern, or forward projections that gives you an opinion that it's anything other than a very viable business?

Why do we need to own it Torch? Help me understand the benefits to the club over a long term peppercorn rent.

I keep on asking this question; and keep on being met by a wall of silence by those who call for SISU ownership. I can't see how anyone can call for a the sale without being able to understand and comment upon this option.

Stadiums are expensive. It's where a club - a business - houses it's customers. I for one yearn for a time when football clubs are run as 'normal businesses' with expenditure matched to income. Debt levels exceeding annual turnover are simply preposterous.

It's time players were paid a wage that clubs can afford; more akin to the very successful German model. That leaves more than sufficient to properly fund the balance of the club's infastructure.

It's the same cost control that prevails in every board room in every successful business - large or small - in the UK. And that's what SISU have failed to evidence in their time in Coventry - cost control and business viability. That's a significantly more pertinent player in our current malaise than any rent issue
