Richard Shaw showed more passion and desire to win during one match than Andy Thorn showed in 2 years or so. Thorn was a scout not a tactician that we all know. However it appears Thorn has unearthed a few gems this year and imo Shaw knows how to use them give him a one year contract lets see what he can do.

A lot of top managers rotate their coaching staff every 3 - 5 years. Fergie is renowned for it and it's very common across Europe in order to freshen things up in training, get new ideas and approaches, etc.

I'm not saying this is why shaw parted company with millwall, but it's why I pay little attention when coaching staff are let go.

Ooh, this is like Catchphrase. Is the answer "take it one game at a time"? :D

Fair enough, believe what you want.

I know quite a few Millwall lads, they told me at the time something went on between him and KJ and he was sacked.

I won't believe it until i see a quote or proper source.

From a Millwall fan...

No, as far as i'm aware he decided to move on. We had a restructure because of the new Youth set up and i think we wanted him to run the new development squad.

But from what i understand, he saw it as a step back from working with the first team and so decided to leave.

I don't think it ended especially cleanly but he is still very well thought of. A few players tweeted yesterday on his first win for you!

Let's just see how the performance compares on Saturday. It's a league game, it's away, it's not a local derby and it's not first game for new manager. That will be the real test. I hope it matches and Shaw is given a fair go if he deserves it.
