TBH nothing surprises me in football or with the skyblues anymore, he's got an offer from a team a division above us ( bigger or not it doesnt matter ) ,he's going to earn more cash, work with better players and a better chance of reaching the PL where the big £££'s are. Football isnt a sport anymore, its a business, players , managers, the board etc etc etc couldnt give a toss about what goes on the pitch, its a job which pays well, they have no loyalty to any club and contracts are practically worthless these days anyway, many of the reasons why im falling out of love with the game....

If it's true that he's cleared his desk then they should be done for an illegal approach too, as there is no way he would have done this without having another job lined up.

Doubt our board would have the common sense or the balls to even try and challenge that.

It's a mercenary business, everyone motivated by money, surprised a little by Robins behaviour, no surprised by SISU who pull the strings of the CCFC Board, as they need every penny of cash to fund each day of trading. This news when confirmed, could be the final defining moment, what comes next?

Do not fear. When he takes his assistant with him we're left with Carsley in charge. And we didnt do too badly the last time he was in co-charge of the team.........oh hang on....

Coventry City allow manager Robins to speak to Huddersfield Town '"with great reluctance"

Coventry City have “with great reluctance” allowed Huddersfield to speak to manager Mark Robins.

The 43-year-old, who is five months into a three-year contract, informed CCFC that he wished to explore the possibility of joining the Championship club despite efforts to keep him.

Sky Blues Chief Executive Tim Fisher said: “We have had more than one club interested in Mark in the last few weeks and we have made every effort to ensure he stays with us.

“We talked to him at length today and he met the owner. Once we had done everything we could and it was obvious that he was still interested in talking to Huddersfield, we had no choice other than to let him do so.

“We are just hoping that when he weighs up his options and opportunities, he will see the great progress to date and the support he has from fans and management alike, coupled with the potential in Coventry, and decide to stay.”

Decide to stay ?
What fucking planet is Fisher on ?
He has already made his mind up or he wouldn't be talking to them.

Again if Robins does state broken promises are a factor, he will not be the first to say it. But lets wait until all is settled before pointing fingers in any direction but does seem hasty from last weeks statements even with hudders being mentioned.

He knew exactly what he was getting when he signed , I dont blame sisu in any way for this. No way can he carry on even if he doesn't take over at uddersfield. The man will now be in the same bracket as bellamy , absolutely feckin hated.

Martinez spoke with Villa, isn't over till it's over.

He might just want to see what it's like up there .

Unlikely he'll want to stay after his shenanigans now.

Probably was.

I'd also bet Martinez didn't say he bled 'blue and white' and said the club is in his heart etc.

You can't expect a manager to stay with a little league 1 club when a championship club steps in for them. Donny let go of Dean Saunders to Wolves not long ago, that's football. If Donny at the top end of the league can't hold onto their manager, you have to realise a mid table club like Coventry have no chance of keeping theirs.

But hopefully we will attract someone better than a dwarf who hadn't been in management for 8 years.

Wolves are a much bigger club than Huddersfield. Dean Saunders was looking at a club that aims to be in the premiership.

Mark Robins is going to a club that will think itself lucky to avoid relegation to league 1.

Potential hasn't got a lot to do with things these days, Huddersfield are in a better position than Wolves so Mark Robbins to Huddersfield is a better prospect for him than Dean Saunders move to Wolves was for him.
