I was thinking along these lines the other day, remembering when Channel 4 started showing the Italian Football.
I think in that first season Lazio spent about £30million on players…possibly Gazza, Mihailovic etc…I couldn’t get my head round how much they’d spent.

Always hard to compare players didn’t move round that much. George Hudson should have been top level centre-forward no doubt, his skill level was incredible and scored all sorts of goals, left foot. right foot, headers, would cost a few million in todays game.
