A few of us called it that Bamford would've been a perfect signing for us. Hes much better at Simss' job than Simms is. Most on here laughed and called us clueless. No he wasn't it's just the poster wants him to start every game.
I think Wrights been shite too but it's clear he is better than Simms
If lampard truly wanted bamford it is weird doug said no. Maybe king thought he was gonna be Jamie Patterson level impact rather than what he's doing at sheff utd?
I remember every single user that did.A few of us called it that Bamford would've been a perfect signing for us. Hes much better at Simss' job than Simms is. Most on here laughed and called us clueless.

Both Wilder and Bamford said Lampard wanted him and Doug said no.I didn't have an opinion on it as don't even know if lampard wanted him
But if he did then Doug must be regretting it you would assume.
Judging from his interview at blunts, Frank wanted him. He was offered a deal then Doug changed his mind and pulled the plug.I didn't have an opinion on it as don't even know if lampard wanted him

I find the whole thing incredibly sad.
It's really beginning to crumble you feel and we desperately need to get one or two players over the line on Monday.
Once again, once the opposition got in front we looked toothless and never looked like equalising.
For the first time, I do now think we will probably now throw it all away.
Not just Boro and Ipswich now is it, it's Hull too
We need some fresh blood. Was hoping Markelo was going to be ready and thrown into the fray, but seemingly he is a way off yet
We can't keep losing away. The more we don't pick up points away, the more pressure it puts on our home form.
Bottom line is, we now don't look like the same team that was flourishing earlier in the season. We now look just like an okay team and one that can be beaten if you get at us.
Honestly thought we were going to go on and win once we went 1 up, but as soon as they scored, the tables turned and we looked distinctly average again.
It's all very sad.
Not sure you can sack FL though. Who would you bring in anyway?
How much longer does Frank have to turn this round? Its been the same script for WEEKS now. At no point has he tried to change things. Just sticking with the same "favourite" and out of form players, same formation, same tactics. He either needs to have a serious rethink and sort out his stubborn, failing tactics... or Doug has to make yet another HUGE call and get somebody else in. If we leave it too much longer, its too late. Either Frank needs to change his gameplan ASAP, or he needs replacing imo.

I will be done with football for a fair bit of time. The hope is what keeps you going every season, but this would prove to me beyond all doubt, it is just never going to happen and we will continue to watch everyone else have their moment.Very well put Otis
If we do throw this away it will feel worse then Luton, Sunderland, Manchester United, all of them
A quarter of a century weve waited for this opportunity. To have it in the palm of our hands and for it to be snatched away, will be the cruelest blow for all of us
Itll set us back so far. ST sales and attendance figures next season will drop for sure. We'll lose the bulk of the squad. Itll be right back to square one when we sold Gus and Vik and were right at the beginning of the rebuild phase. It quite literally will be a 5 year backwards step.Very well put Otis

That was based on goals scored. Simms 10 in 13 starts. Wright, 2 in about 17. I also posted we should sign Bamford, which was laughed at, by most on here.No he wasn't it's just the poster wants him to start every game.

Cruel but deserved from a sporting point of view .. you cannot blow such a lead , its criminalVery well put Otis

2023 was a late charge to the playoffs leading to a game that could have gone either way. It hurt a lot but the whole thing just felt like a bonus because it had come from nowhere and Luton had finished third.I'm still hopeful for this season (just about), but it does feel like a sliding doors moment and it's going to be our best opportunity for a long time.
I did think that after the Luton Play Off final loss though to be fair...

This is a record breaking bottle job prolonged over the whole season and then further embarrassment in the playoffs probably against fucking Wrexham.
Most of the squad would be sold and pretty much a new one assembled in its place. As for how much we'd raise, I'm really not sure. A lot of these players would have their valuations tarnished by their association with being the biggest bottlers in Championship history.I agree this would be worse. I also worry about what would happen to the squad and if we'd be in for another rebuild in the summer.
Wouldn't be surprised if Frank didn't stick around if we fail promotion (walk rather than be sacked).
Still I think we'll do it, but making it really difficult
This is my concern. We've seen season ticket sales rise year on year for a while. If we blow this what will the impact be, especially if the 'star' players start leaving.Itll set us back so far. ST sales and attendance figures next season will drop for sure. We'll lose the bulk of the squad. I'm a long term season ticket holder, my wife has had one for 5 years now too. If this season is bottled we are not renewing. This is my concern. We've seen season ticket sales rise year on year for a while. If we blow this what will the impact be, especially if the 'star' players start leaving.
We'd be in a position where we wouldn't be worrying about PL teams picking off our best players, we'd be looking at teams who we potentially finished above who will offer our players far more money than we will.
Rushworth will go back and we don't know the status of Dovin who seems to have had a setback. Think I'm right in saying Tats, MVE, Wright and Simms will all be in their final year, then the majority of the rest only have two years left.
We'd be looking at a major rebuild and I don't see anything like the Vik & Gus money being available to do it.
Let's hope we turn things around quickly and our biggest concern is offloading players as they aren't good enough for the Premier League.
Farewell, cruel football world….I will be done with football for a fair bit of time. The hope is what keeps you going every season, but this would prove to me beyond all doubt, it is just never going to happen and we will continue to watch everyone else have their moment.
With a young lad now who I think the world of, doctorate to finish and various other personal life goals I have in my sights, these are frankly much more important than football and won't let me down in the process.
A lot of the criticism from Derby fans of Frank Lampard was there was never a plan B and in truth I’m seeing the same.
Not being out to see games is much the issue of the players as it is the manager.
I fear, and I hope I’m wrong, we will fizzle out this season.
Won’t be attending any play off game (including Wembley should we make it) That money saved will be going towards next season’s ST renewal.Itll set us back so far. ST sales and attendance figures next season will drop for sure. We'll lose the bulk of the squad. Itll be right back to square one when we sold Gus and Vik and were right at the beginning of the rebuild phase. It quite literally will be a 5 year backwards step.

Patterson was totally brought in last season, this no to Bamford, quite significant?I'd like to see a plan A that doesn't have 1 midfielder holding hands with the CBs, another playing as a 2nd striker or getting jn the way on the wings and where the full backs aren't continuously out of position leaving the CBs & Grimes exposed. We must be the easiest team to play against as there are gaps everywhere. Add to this our set pieces have no variation, I would have thought that a coach who was a very good player would come up with better than doing the same thing every time. Something needs to change otherwise if we don't get promoted from the position we were in then I can see Doug getting ruthless again.
It's more than that even, the manager sensed something in the pipeline and was proved right, the fact SU speculated that we were going for it seems to be perfect trolling as far as I can see.A few of us called it that Bamford would've been a perfect signing for us. Hes much better at Simss' job than Simms is. Most on here laughed and called us clueless.

Haha yeah was thinking that the other time about the trolling. It was a big mistake by King to block it at the last minute. It's more than that even, the manager sensed something in the pipeline and was proved right, the fact SU speculated that we were going for it seems to be perfect trolling as far as I can see.
Couldnt agree more. Will be a fair few thinking na fuck that
Yes you are correct, the reason for this is likely due to a Pep not having to worry about a Plan B aside from about 4-6 games in a league season, and in truth if they are at it on top of their game.Very few managers have a plan b these days. It’s odd but true. I think it’s partly a consequence of the incredibly successful Pep having a clear philosophy and expecting his teams to play that way come what may ….
I’m an advocate for mixing it up more ….. but if you look at almost every top manager they don’t really have a plan b or C anymore ….
Ooh is that a rhubarb and Gooseberry,yak![]()

Please do explain which team created that lead then if not the one we have now. Which is it? The squad you were avidly celebrating about or the one that is now apparently a load of rubbish? And you had the cheek to call me a clueless fool?![]()

Had a night to calm down, maybe We’re all being a bit harsh on players and manager, never been a fan of that back 4 but its never been that bad, but it’s never had this type of pressure on it, some players can handle pressure some crumble, we looked great until December, now the whole team just look nervous, instead of a forward pass it’s a safe one, instead of trying to go past someone it’s a pass, whatever it is they’ve got 7 away games to learn How to handle it, and worryingly they’re putting more pressure on themselves at home, we can’t afford a slip up, lampards right, we’re used to doing the chasing not being chased, they need to learn how to cope with it and quickHow much longer does Frank have to turn this round?
