Not taking a fit left footed left back has made build up v slow down that side. Don’t blame trippier but Southgate’s selection of shaw looks increasingly poor and misguided. No balance to the side

Got ribbed by Bristol fans in Dusseldorf for not having England tickets. Who's laughing now?

Genuinely every other game in this tournament has been more entertaining than all 3 of ours.

It's utter tripe.

WTF has Southgate done to these players?? Palmer and Saka take players on in the Prem, but he's coached all the creativity out of them it seems.
Bellingham is a far better player than this, it looks like 10 yards forward, stop, turn and 6 yards back, why don't they just move it quicker?
I don't think I'll be wasting 2 hours I'll never get back watching this shower of sh1te getting dry humped by the Dutch!!!

England remind me of us beginning of last season. Players playing within themselves and not willing to take any chances

Somehow managed to speed run it back to Duisburg in two hours. Fuck being in that tram queue.

I'm back home after this, whoever is carrying the torch enjoy it!
Good shout! The tram was only the second worst 45 minute experience I had that evening…

Looking forward to a nice break for the booze and terrible diet now! 😂

After watching Holland I’d rather play them.

England would be better against a team that will come out to play against us. Slovakia are going to be another 10 men behind the ball team

England better practice penalties then. 🙈

The way the draw has gone for us is unbelievable. If we don't get to the final as a minimum Southgate should never work in football again.

We've not been lucky once in this tournament so far - just massively underwhelming.
Fantastic result for the Dutch last night though (y)

Except for being in one of the easiest groups (again), and ending up in the significantly easier side of the draw (again).

It’s the easy side of the group because the we won our group and France came 2nd. Previous England teams have played themselves into the harder side of the draw by not winning the group. In 2002 and 2010 there was a good chance we could’ve gotten to a semi-final (at least) had we won the group.

Southgate, for all his flaws, has won the group in the last 3 major tournament we’ve been in.

The criticism is justified but the bigger picture is that we won the group and the tournament actually starts now. The mentality needs to be that last 3 games didn’t happen and we can all move on from it.

The easy draw thing is crap - if France had won their group and Croatia or Hungary got got more points our run would have seen us play Holland, Italy, France.

same as the 2018 World Cup - we should have played Argentina and Germany but Argentina came second in Croatias group and Germany didn’t get out of Sweden’s

I’d also argue that on paper Belgium had an easier group

Yes, but the above was somewhat unexpected so could argue we have been a little fortunate. We have certainly not been unlucky with how its panned out in the last few tournaments.

Totally agree that nothing that has happened so far really matters.... i'm sure Argentina aren't berating themselves for losing to Saudi Arabia in the last world cup.

But we do seem to have lucked out a bit in the way things have turned out. Southgate may not be a good manager, but he can certainly be a lucky one!

I'm back home now after a killer drive.

R16 neutral tickets through UEFA only 85 EUR if you're still out and are without a ticket.

Get on it
