Our goalkeepers continue to make the same mistakes time after time season after season .
We conceded the most goals in the top half last season , we are doing the same again this season .
There are a multitude of ways to change things , from signings ,tactics and improving on coaching staff..
This is pretty basic stuff SBT
I would say the main reason our keepers continue to make mistakes is because we continue to recruit mainly cheap journeymen who’ve spent most of their careers in L1 and L2.
I would love it if we had a GK coach who could turn that kind of player into a Championship mainstay (some would argue Williams already has) but generally speaking you get what you pay for. None of us have any idea what the GK coaches do, I’m yet to hear anyone be specific about what Williams is doing wrong on a day-to-day basis.
When Wilson won the golden glove the defence got the credit for it ? if you put Wilson in Burnley’s team last season he’d of prob won it again,if we can sort our defence out and daft mistakes it’ll take the pressure off, i think we are a bit quick to jump on our keepers, rushworth will be ok until dovins back, it was what he was brought in for
So I assume you think if we’d chosen to replace Williams in the summer then a keeper with the pedigree of Collins would actually have gone from strength to strength?
Or a new keeper, which is what we now have two of?
Well if you’re going to declare a highly rated keeper as shit after four games then there’s not much that coaching can do about that I’m afraid.Who is also doing the same things
Someone should tell Williams to stop teaching Rushworth to let goals in, he should be teaching him to keep them out instead, silly goose!

This seems more than opinion though. It seems like an ongoing campaign.
Most fans normally form opinions based on watching players and comparing them to other players abilities and skill sets.
From what I have seen posted on Aled Williams it doesn't seem to be based on what he does or doesn't do as a coach
I have no idea whether he is any good or not as I have never seen him coach.
But I do know there are people at the club better placed to asses his ability, than a few forum bashers who have formed an opinion without having any knowledge of how he goes about his job.

How would anyone on here know?
I don't know what specifically Dennis Lawrence did well but he was clearly a good defensive coach.
I mean, I strongly doubt that Williams has had a negative impact on Rushworth in the few weeks he's been here but given the seemingly perpetual keeping issues we have it would be strange not to have questions asked of the goalkeeping coach.
