Just wondering if the Club’s ticket exchange scheme is the worst in the country. Surely Doug King needs to do something about it, or am I just a naive season ticket holder who needs to get real?

I think the voucher should be allowed to be used anywhere, from reading the club's article it is now only valid at food & drink outlets in the ground.

It's just been introduced this season, it may get tweaked but right now it's fine. I managed to get a free pie and pint at the Watford game. Happy man.

Well, if I'm being honest, I think it was 2 pies, a beer and a tea. The guy serving messed up the till.

The club have to be seen to do something officially I guess but I would never use it

I am away for two and a bit weeks soon and missing WBA and Charlton games, I am lucky enough to know a few people I am happy to charge a little under Face Value for when I am not here - That will be a thing of the past if we move to digital tickets though

They're paying £500 for a single match?!

Went in the Balcony Bar, got a voucher through the post, free hotdog and coke next game. Seemed alright to me. Last season I got FA.

What, you want an Amazon voucher or something?

A lot of clubs operate a scheme whereby the ticket holder is reimbursed the true price they paid for it or get an equivalent discount from the next seasons ticket.

Most give a small refund or gift.

We shouldn't be reimbursed the entire ticket price because it would lead to people deciding to stay at home when it's a bit cold or they've had too many pints the night before.

Leaving aside the reimbursement amount for a moment, can I just point out that having a ticket provides the right to attend, not the obligation to do so.

If people decide to stay at home for the odd game, surely that's their business. Christ knows there's plenty of games I've been to in the past where the club should've paid me.

If I'm obliged to attend then I'd at least want minimum wage, and more if they want me to sing as well. 😄

From the club’s perspective, they want a full stadium and if the demand is there, the club ought to incentivise STHs to put the ticket up on the Exchange. Particularly now there’s a waiting list for STs, the club should ensure fans are actually attending games.

At Man U, if you miss 3 games and don’t put the ST on the exchange, you lose your ST. That’s harsh but considering that club’s context, somewhat reasonable.

Are you suggesting we should follow utd's model of operation, really?

No, but what King has introduced for the FZ should probably be stadium wide.

If you can’t make a game, all you have to do is to put it on the ticket exchange, it doesn’t even need to sold.

A ST gives you first dibs on the seat and at a cheaper rate so if you can’t go, it should be an obligation that you ‘give up’ the seat.

We're a little different to arguably the biggest club in the world. Did we even sell all our STs this season? I thought we were 500-1000 short?

Of course there is going to be more interest now we are top of the league. We're not in a position to start taking away STs because they miss a few games. Changing the rules and potentially putting long standing ST holders nose out of place because of the tag alongs now all of a sudden want a ST when there is a sniff of the PL.

If we end up with a 10000 waiting list then, maybe, it's worth looking at.

You’re lucky to have such friends. Any of mine expect the ST for free and wouldn’t pay £20 for it nevermind a little under face value.

The £10 voucher is fucking stingy. For a match ticket that there going to sell for £37-45, a tenner voucher is tight - especially compared to other clubs.

Not really if it's your st We're talking about in reality but I do get what you're saying.

On this subject, I wanted to upgrade my daughter's U18 season ticket to an adult one. Reason being is that she's 17, started a new job and can't make every home game now. I asked if I could pay the difference and move it from U18 to adult and they said no. Their only advice was to cancel the ST for each game and buy a new adult ticket for that seat. Why would I go to the bother of doing that. I'd just buy another seat if that was the case (unless completely sold out of course).

It's going to be an adult ticket next season anyway, so unless they start doing facial recognition then I'll be doing it. Odd they turned down an extra few hundred for nothing though.
