Went online this morning to order 3 shirts, out of stock apart from the bigger sizes.
I know it’s pre-order and that more will come in but with the rumours of the Hummel remake going around for a while you would expect plenty to be available initially.

The whole thing has annoyed me a little bit in all honesty.
I'm not sure it's been handled very well by the club.
I know they don't want to get a shit loads of shirts printed only to be left with 1000s unsold at the end of the season. But, to do the pre order is (I feel) limiting sales.
In my own situation, I was going to buy mine and my lads for our holiday in Ibiza. We fly on the 22nd, the shirt delivery isn't until 25th. If I could.of just walked in to the shop yesterday and bought a shirt, I would of. As it happens, I won't have it in time for my holiday, I've ummed and arred and now, probably won't bother. They have lost £150 from me.
Personally, I think the launch should of coincided with pay weekend and should of been available there and then. With how wet everybody has been getting about going back to Hummel, they would of cleaned up.
Just my opinion though.

Still early days, and it maybe resolved in the next day or so... BUT... This has been an issue for many years, with demand outstripping (forgive the pun) the minimal supply.

Surely it does not take an expert to work this out based on historical trends... or they just don't care about it.

Obviously no lessons learned from last year. I got a training top and football (wont stay up) as consolidation for the long wait, I wonder what they'll offer this year.

I assume he meant payday as in end of june. It is a bit amateurish how this has been done. Pre-order should be precisely that.. Anybody can order but advise there could be a delayed delivery due to demand.

I’d imagine there’s other considerations and input from the manufacturer (who don’t forget are making shirts for loads of clubs). Daft to just blame it on the club. If it was out earlier there’d still be people moaning saying they wanted it for holiday and oh if only they’d released it last Christmas they’d have got one for their lad.

So pay day only happens once a year? Pay weekend last fucking week.

The whole thing only needed bringing forward 1 week, not a massive ask, and being made available (even if it was only say 1000 units with ST holders getting 1st refusal or something).
A) Realease on pay day.
B) Have some shirts there and then.
C) Schools break up on 19th, people go on holiday from then, people like to get a new shirt for holidays.
1 week earlier is all it needed to be and I think they would of had loads more sales.

In this case I think it is very plausible to blame the club. Known for weeks it would be a popular kit and its pre-order only. Surely this allows them to take ALL orders and then can email to advise delivery dates for each order. They had ample time to know how many orders they could take so why was this not communicated before the release? To 'sell out' on this basis is highly amateur and does them no favours at all

I have probably missed it somewhere but when does the physical shop open and will that have stock, also, will it have infants, had my first grandson earlier this year and last years smallest top won’t fit for a while.

Not sure how you can sell out on pre-order, surely you continue to take sales and push back the delivery date? I don't imagine off the peg sales will be available until after the start of the season. Hope I'm wrong.

Interesting 5XL have sold out. If I were 5XL I'm not sure I'd be walking around in polyester on a warm day!

Don't want to piss on people's chips but only last season Hummel failed to deiiver kits a full month into the season to Forest Green Rovers, they didn't even have enough for the playing staff. This prompted FGR to cancel the deal switch to a uk supplier. There was speculation it was because the kits were bespoke rather than template ones that caused the issues.

In theory it will be the initial allocation that’s sold out. I would guess that the store ordered initially x amount of each and wanted to see demand before making tons of them.

Hopefully as the club shop is ran by Hummel and someone else we should get items a lot quicker than waiting for a load of template shirts to be sent from Nike and then printer and sent to the store.

Remember when they would wear the next season's home shirt on the last home game of the previous season as a promotion ? And they also miss a trick as they could of had them out for father's Day a couple of weeks ago, my kids used to buy me one.

Must be difficult to predict sales when the club is in state of flux regarding attendance? So many people saying they are not going to support CCFC because they have moved to Birmingham and people saying only going to away matchesjoyful::joyful::joyful So do they get more away kits printed or Home kits? thats why i think its order online for now

The law of supply and demand is a theory that explains the interaction between the sellers of a resource and the buyers for that resource. The theory defines how the relationship between the availability of a particular product and the desire (or demand) for that product has on its price. Generally, low supply and high demand increase price and vice versa.

Seeing as we played in our kit yesterday I wouldn't think it would be an issue for us.

Feels like the club have had a bit more to think about this year... Like having somewhere to play... Honestly you really can't please all the people all the time!!!

Given its pre-order I’m not sure why you can’t pay for whatever size you want. I’m waiting on the infant kits for the little one and all the normal sizes for adults are already gone.

Would have liked to have them for the first game of the season but still happy to put my money down and be next in the queue when they finally turn up.

Not sure what our relationship is with Hummel but you’d think cash flow in the off season would be important. With the home shirt looking so good they could make a killing on the shirts this year.

This isn't like Nike where the kits already existed and it was just a matter of sticking our badge on - and even then we had problems. This is a bespoke kit and the initial run will already be set. Sure they will open up orders again in the week but with a later delivery date.

I ordered but it did say as I was checking out that items were not currently in stock. Who knows. Reckon this shirt will be a bit of a collectors item. Away top is really nice too.

Just ordered! Turns out don’t have to pay VAT outside the EEC so offsets the price of shipping perfectly, whoop!

I'm not sure it's plausible to blame the club when the whole operation is outsourced.

But they are responsible for selling it and advertising it. Just communicate better and this wouldn't happen

I think that bearing in mind the move to Brum, it is understandable that they would be cautious about demand.

I haven’t been to an England game in 5 years now, I have bought 3 England kits in that time.
