So where are we all heading to this year?

Off to Madrid for a 5 day break in February, any tips/nice places to visit welcome, a few places outside have been recommended so far.

Thinking a trip to Asia for a few weeks in March. Somewhere new though. Maybe Philippines.

Also have a trip to the US planned but that's for work. Might stick around a bit afterwards though.

@Mild-Mannered Janitor Madrid is great. Try and catch a few football matches if you can. There's so many teams based there in both La Liga and Segunda. Did a weekend last year and did something similair. Was great fun.

We're off to Disneyland Paris in May with our niece and nephew, very excited to experience it through their eyes.

Then it's Barcelona for a week in June, very excited for that one.

We'd been thinking of going to Miami in April/May, but not now. We'll probably look at going somewhere in Asia, either China or the Philippines.

No monthly seaside trips this year for us but a few bits planned.

A day in Dublin at the end of March to celebrate my 40th.

Week in Hayle with the wife's side of the family and all the cousins in August

A weekend in Seville with the lads from school to celebrate us all turning 40 this year

2 weeks in Ayia Napa with the wife and Kids at the end of October. Celebrating the wife hopefully having pased her masters

Rio Park is a must in Madrid. Beautiful place for a stroll.

Had a great view of the old Atletico stadium from there too

Where in the South? We went to South Carolina (stayed in Charleston) a couple of years ago and it was amazing

Have booked a cottage in Yorkshire Dales in June for 4 days for me and my 2 brothers to tour round the Dales, Northumberland, Cumbria & the lakes on our motorbikes.
Will probably get away with my wife & dog for a long weekend somewhere in Scotland on the coast.

Cruise to Norway in June. Cruises never really appealed until we tried it 4 years ago. Sticking to Cunard so no booze cruises or lots of kids.
Just so easy to drive to Southampton, pass car keys to the car park attendant then straight on for lunch and sailaway.
Totally stressless!

Just retired so its holiday for the whole year for me! Just got back from 3 weeks in Thailand, off to Gambia in 3 weeks, one of the Canaries in May/June for a week then Canada in August for family wedding. Looking at Goa later in the year but curious of 'Delhi belly' so might pick somewhere else.

After a recommendation for 2 weeks in the south of Spain in June. Somewhere relaxing but still have plenty of bars/restaurants/things to do. Fairly close to attractions/history/major cities (within one hour on the trains).

Funnily enough I was looking for something similar last night but for May.

There’s a few options like Blanes, Malgrat de Mar, Calella etc. that I saw.

Looks like you can jump on trains to Barcelona, Girona and a few other other places and there’s still bars, restaurants etc. without it being as commercial/busy as places like Lloret de Mar and the like.

Think we’re gonna opt for Malgrat de Mar as saw a pretty good deal for what looks a very nice hotel through Jet2.

Centre Parcs for the Southampton game (I book these well ahead to get dog accommodation and every time it’s a home game).

October St Lucia for a week amazing location and hotel for the same price as a week in Egypt or the Canaries.

We've booked Bardolino in August. Third time in Lake Garda, we're basically checking off each town until we've done the lot

Just FYI, the train from Callella to Barcelona is a rattler, which stops at every town on the way. Takes over an hour.

In Lake Garda have you ever been to Salo? Where would you recommend visiting?

Not Salo yet, apart from visiting Limone we've mostly been on the east side of the lake - Garda itself was lovely last time, Malcesine is absolutely stunning and you're right at the foot of Monte Baldo, Limone was nice and has a really dramatic backdrop of cliffs right behind it (although not sure if that limits the sunshine) and we also liked making a quick boat hop from Garda to Lazise which has a large battlement castle. So far Malcesine I would say is the most picturesque but really there have been no bad choices yet.

Now our daughter's a bit older we're hoping to make a few more boat trips this year, the Sirmione peninsula in particular is the one I want to see next.

Spent a few days parked up near the seafront in Blanes in our motorhome a couple of years ago. We love Catalunya, and can certainly highly recommend places like Girona and Vic.

We have nowt planned as yet, as I've just bought a van to build out as a campervan, so not sure when it'll be finished (first time building one from scratch).
Our current campervan is too small, and the previous moho was too unwieldy, so we're going somewhere in the middle.
The hope is that we can do France and Spain again in late August/September and prob early October, but I'm hopeful of a few small test trips (Scotland, Yorkshire probably) before that, just to make sure it all works properly.
A lot of work to do first!

Benidorm for a mate's 50th in May. If we get to the play offs I think we possibly could be there for one of the semi finals. Hopefully not though.

Malta with the family in August.

Repeat of 2023 for me really.

Back in 2004, me and 'er indoors had a 10 day stay in Limone (Hotel Villa Dirce) in Lake Garda. We used to take the ferries all over the lake to visit most towns. The best couple of days were over to Malcesine, and in Malcesine, a cable car to the top of Monte Baldo. Another trip on the ferry was all the way down to Sirmione, and had a look around the castle there. For those who don't know, Lake Garda is around 32km long, with an horizon like the sea. Fabulous place! We used to call it the " Big Willy Lake"! Check it out on Google earth to see the shape of it!
