On the way back to the car- via Wilsons Lane my son and I walked back with 6/7 Millwall fans, they were great, good old cockneys, no bother, they engaged brilliantly with him, recognising his young pain and were happy to be questioned by him about trips to Yeovil, and how we will be drawn in the first round of the FA CUP and the Johnstones Paint trophy.. it some how eased that longer than normal walk.. until we parted company with a friendly handshake.. and then the reality of what they had said sank in.
