Highfield Road nostalgia (1 Viewer)

Perhaps its our lack of success since leaving HR or just general antipathy to the location/size of the Ricoh (and also the circumstancs of moving there that have ruined us) but it is noticeable how many fans talk warmly and nostalgically about HR.

Given the choice hypothetically i bet a majority of fans would choose to go back to HR (if it still existed) rather than the Ricoh. I only started supporting the club after the move to the Ricoh but my overwhelming feeling is that Coventry fans would love to turn the clock back - perhaps beause of the "glory" days at HR that have not been replicated at the Ricoh.

I know quite a few fans of Derby, Leicester, Stoke, Swansea and Arsenal - none of them talk about their old gorunds anything like as much as our fans talk about HR. Or do they, in your experience?

I know a few Leicester fans and they all seem to prefer Filbert St to the Walkers.

They seem more nostalgic about their old ground than us. Could only be the ones I know though.

As it was our home for over a hundred years it is going to be in our hearts and minds, and long may it continue.Even SISU can't take that away from us !

I'd say the difference is Arsenal and Leicester are successful teams, so they probably haven't even worried about their stadium.

Easier to get to, better size for a club like ours and some great memories. If I had a Delorean I'd go back in time and slap some sense into Richardson.

However, it wasn't near Europe's largest Tesco. Oooo-eeeerrrr!

If they just put a flipping train platform at the Ricoh getting there would be a doddle. Bloody British infrastructure...

Don't even get me started on that BSB. There's a train line running right by the bloody side of the ground, it's been open since 2005 ... AND STILL NO TRAIN STATION.

I actually like to argue about it with myself from time to time as no one listens to my Coventry City related rants in the real world.

More baffling than taking a whistle to a football match to deliberately annoy everyone.

Just one of several things which should've been done within months of opening the ground and which would've made it easier for City fans from further parts to get to games, boosted crowds, blah blah blah...
