Waited a bit to post on here as the emotions of being relegated are usually high, they were with me when it happened to us 2 years ago and 9 years ago.

Firstly when it comes round to August no matter what you'll all be excited as football fans about the prospects of your team I'm sure, as any football fan is. Time is a healer and you will be proud of your team come the start of the season.

Words of advice is that this league is a lot more physical then it has been in the past and teams like Charlton and us who didnt play the greatest football compared to perhaps our neighbours or some of the lower teams e.g Hudders or Mk Dons, but the height and physicality of our teams was enough to win us games. Plus we personally didnt spend loads in creating a team that did the job, we just had the right men in charge now. So its easy for me to reminisce about how great our season was but its been magnified by the nightmare the season before. Sitting thorough 30 odd games and finishing in 16th in league one I was sick to the back teeth of the club, so don't have it in your heads that this league is easy.

But lads, be confident too, im sure you can keep a spine of good players together and the fact that so many players are available on frees or next to nothing these days makes it easier I guess, your team will have the advantage of the equivalent of the parachute payments which when we came down we did not. Also your stadium will literally attract players too.

Finally can I add, Sheffield Wednesday recieved a postcard from Sky Blues fans this morning in rememberance of the two lads who died in that horrific car crash on their way to the Ricoh a few years ago, I thought that was a touch of class from you guys so thanks a lot. I have a lot of time for your club. So I hope you can get back on the road to recovery soon, its not easy and few teams manage to do it quickly but eventually I reckon you'll be back as I'm sure you all know you will be.

Regards and good luck for the coming campaign.

Sam the Owl.

Nice post..............I was caught up in the aftermath of that terrible accident and it was shocking to hear of the loss of two young lives. All the best to their families and friends and good luck to the Owls in the coming season too.

thank you for that,

problem is, we are owned by SISU.

Big and physical is exactly what we are not.

A midfield of Sheff, Bigi, Thomas and Bell will get bullied every game

Thank you for your very nice post. I think we all know now that next season will be a tough season and we won't win every game but as long as we all get behind the players we might get our club back.

I have always had a soft spot for Sheffield Wednesday and I hope you do brilliant next season in the Championship

Cheers for the sentiments lads. I'll watch out for you lot next season. hopefully we'll meet in the cup or something?

Top post Sam and thanks for your words of support. At the moment we don't even know if there will be a CCFC next year. We are in the most desperate times in our football history. Keep your fingers crossed that we will one day meet again at A packed to the rafters, Hillsborough, which is my favourite ground for many reasons, not just our cup success. PUSB all the very best for next year.

nice post Sam, and i'm glad that awful tragedy has been remembered in the right way, situations like that and Fabrice Muamba etc always seem to bring out the best in English football fans, a shame it takes something drastic but things like that are never forgotten.

a mutual respect between CCFC and SWFC seems to have been around for years, and the way the Donny fans were for our last hoome game of the season i think things are changing for the good. fans are appreciating what other fans are going through or been through, the banter between us and Donny was brilliant, all in the right spirit and i can't wait to play then next year

We have some great Owls fans regularly using the bar in which I work (at Chapel St Leonards), and even my boss is an Owls man! Oddly enough we don't see too many Blades types, and unfortunately we DO see far too many Forest fans :p
The craic is usually great, and we've just said goodbye (for now) to a fantastic Sheffield family who have spent far too much on beer with us over the last week! :claping hands:
Wednesday are a club that most other clubs' people seem to respect as a genuine set of folk with a real loyalty to their club and city that many others would do well to emulate. Best of luck for the new season, but hang around long enough for us to join you - please!

What an amazing gesture that is, 6 years on to think of Shaun and Steve, all credit to whoever sent the card, you deserve a massive pat on the back, makes me even more proud to be a Cov fan.

Great words from you lot!

Also I'd like to add theres some great teams in this league, that had real friendly welcoming attitudes towards us this year. I visited Oldham, Wycombe, Bury, Hartlepool, Exeter, Yeovil, Huddersfield, Rochdale amongst others and the majority have proper fans and friendly banter which made these away days most enjoyable. Even when we lost sometimes.

Thanks for the post swfcsam, always nice to see fans of other clubs here on the board.

Thanks for the respect also, its a big thing.

Please tell me, do you think you would have got the place you got, if Evans was not in jail?

Which is why most on here agree that letting Platt go was yet another bad move.
