Doug hasn't put a foot wrong since taking over I hope we go up and he makes a big profit on the sale after.

The work he's done on the back end especially in the time frame is pretty fucking good.

Yes he did. Abolished the over 60’s concession…B’stard. It was flagged up on here by his foot soldiers. Only asking for opinions of course.

Was sitting pretty at 62 until Doug brought this in, now 64, one more year before a concession again, unless he moves it up to 70 lol

These pricing changes are still rumoured - we'll know for sure tomorrow. But if he's about to scrap the young adult tickets entirely when prices drop tomorrow we're looking at 16-year-old kids - still at school, still living with mum and dad - being asked to cough up nearly £40 for a Category A home game! Forty quid. For a teenager to watch championship football is laughable.

This pattern of misjudgements is becoming embarrassing now and King's had more U-turns on ticket pricing than a learner driver in a cul-de-sac. Every single time, he gets it wrong, fans go mental, and then he has to backtrack with his tail between his legs. It's like watching someone repeatedly walk into the same glass door, and seemingly the bloke just still doesn't get it. He clearly doesn't understand the community/family mindset of football in 2025 or what young fans and families can afford. Either that, or he simply doesn't care - and I'm not sure which is worse.

We know and accept football clubs need money. We're not stupid. But asking a 16-year-old to pay adult prices is mental amd will offend adults on behalf of kids! Granted some will be working Saturday jobs for relative pocket money, but that will in of itself stop them getting to games.

Often when the game is less than inspiring they are the ones helping to create the noise in the ground - and yes, before anyone jumps down my throat, I know it's not just them, but they're a part of what makes our home atmosphere so good.

These are the supporters who should be hooked for life by now. Instead, King wants to price them out before they've even got their first proper job.

He is not new to this now and by now should have realised running a football club isn't like running whatever business he ran before. You can't just look at a spreadsheet and think "right, let's squeeze a bit more out of this lot." Football fans aren't customers - they're the heartbeat of the club. Treat them like cash machines and eventually their credit will run out.

Hope Doug is having a think tonight before green lighting the ticketing team!!

*Disclaimer have have no kids anywhere near the ages effected by introduction of such a policy.

Actually I had my most disposable cash in my 30s and that was bringing up 3 kids. Much better income then and prices of many things ( beer, holidays, energy, food ) were all a lot more reasonable.
Life and peoples income patterns vary. I’ve got mates now approaching their sixties with better pensions and shares to cash in etc.

I respect that mate it's definitely a crap time for people economically especially for those with families. Me and my Mrs won't have kids at the moment as we just couldn't afford it hopefully wages catch up eventually.

There's no reason why adult tickets in the Families shouldn't be the same price as a standard adult season ticket. The savings you get in the family zone are significantly cheaper children and young people's tickets.

I am pleased the pricing structure that's been announced is actually very reasonable for adults, and Doug King has in the main listened to historical fan concerns, even if I would have personally added 5% to adult prices and subsidised the next generation of fans tickets a little more. Anyway this looks nothing like I was fearing it might and seems a like a well-thought out approach that balances the club's financial needs with keeping football affordable for most.

My post was clearly based on information from what I considered an informed source suggesting that youth concessions might be scrapped entirely and the prospect of 16-year-olds paying anything close to £37 for Category A games genuinely alarmed me - not because I have children affected by this (as I mentioned, I don't), but because I believe passionately that we need to nurture young fans, not price them out.
Perhaps I should have waited for official confirmation rather than reacting to rumours, but my concern came from a genuine place: wanting to protect the future of our fanbase and the atmosphere they help create.

While I accept the criticism for jumping the gun on unconfirmed information, I do wonder if the pile-on approach is always necessary when someone makes an honest mistake based in genuine concern for the club. We're all passionate supporters here, and sometimes that passion can lead us to react quickly whether that's to perceived pricing issues or to posts we disagree with. Regardless, I hope we now sell out our STs in record time and create the best atmosphere we have had at the CBS yet!!

Pretty much the social media grifters nowadays.

Step one - say something ridiculous and outrageous to get attention
Step two - back track but bring up minor historical issues, knowing you've planted the seed.
Step three - bask in the attention and sit back, watch the arguments and cream yourself
Step four - See step one but double down

I've read all that and it doesn't explain why you chose the title of the thread you did. Even before the pricing was released it was wide of the mark and all the hallmarks of a drama queen flounce. It was an obvious attempt to stir up a hornets nest. Now you are back tracking under a flag of good intentions. It was clearly an out and out click bait attempt.

Check my comment history, I am not normally a histrionics or reactionary type of poster. The title of the thread was on the proviso that he was indeed abandoning consession pricing for 16yos, which in my view would have been a shambles.
