Yes, I would. Why? Because we'd still be in Coventry, not in Northampton. Also, the club would be a much more attractive proposition for any interested purchaser.

I agree. I'm not saying SISU are innocent, far from it. However, I've never known so many fans show so much determination in backing ACL/CCC against the Council. SISU aren't our ideal owners, of course they're not, but if they had a stake in the Ricoh now then maybe PH4 could have offered them a bundle to leave. We'll never know now because of the actions of SISU and ACL and the Council and some of our fans. SISU take the lions share of the blame, of course, but ACL aren't the 'ickle innocents made out by the majority on here.

As for Ginetta's position. No, I don't get that. The stadium needs to be owned by the Club and we can't all be judge and jury with every owner and decide if we think they are "fit" or "moral" or "trustworthy" enough to own the stadium.

Because of that attitude Northampton will have two football teams while Coventry won't have any.

I think we'll have quite a few by the looks of it !?

Most importantly for me, none of them will be Coventry City.

Most importantly for all of us but I'd still rather back a local outfit than SISU Cobblers FC until Seppala liquidates them anyway !

What about you? SISU owning the stadium and being at the Ricoh or SISU not owning the stadium and being in Northampton? Straight choice, no in-between.

It shouldn't be a straight choice. It wouldn't have been if the Administrator and the football league had any balls !

Torchomatic,

So you would advocate that the Council also hand over a community asset to an outside interest that has shown no interest in the local football club it has control over?

What makes you think that SISU, who would then also have ownership of the stadium, would suddenly change their policy on Coventry City and provide a successful football team. Instead of just making a quick buck from the stadium and disregarding the club?

There is no reason to trust SISU whatsoever. It would be a far greater crime for the Council to hand over the Ricoh than it is for them to protect it as they are now.

Never SISU owning the stadium. It is immoral.

Well, there you go. You have won. SISU won't get there hands on the stadium.

What makes you think they wouldn't? Hysteria from you and yours, that's what. it always has been. We'll never find out now though will we, so it's all academic.

OK, so after 130 years Coventry FC will leave the City, but at least they didn't get their grubby hands on the stadium, eh? A victory for your morals obviously.

Realistically it is a straight choice CCFC are currently owned (or will be once they come out of Administration) by SISU, and unless an agreement can be reached between them and ACL that gives SISU some stake in the ownership of the Ricoh (by buying the Higgs share, ACL, or the free hold) CCFC will be playing in Northampton.

So you'll be celebrating then today? I wonder if your morals stretch farther than the "community asset"?

Celebrating??????????? I'm gutted as you well know it but these cretins cannot be trusted at all, all of this was inevitable. There was only ever one scenario, let CCFC and a huge valuable chunk of CV6 become their plaything or they would destroy the club at will ! People haven't given in and I cannot blame them for that ! We all know that ACL/CCC have dug their heels in but their actual blame in this is minimal compared to the scum, who have now just turned spiteful!

Their plaything? Now, this is the hysteria I was talking about, which many people are happy to buy into along with CCC.

What is happening now is what you want. There is no other way. SISU are not getting their hands on the stadium so you and ACL are the victors.

Torch, purely hypothetical I know, but would you trust Bryan Richardson with the Ricoh if he was to suddenly buy Coventry City from Sisu and put in an offer for the ground?

No, not one bit. But if it was a straight choice of him or going to Northampton for at least three years then I would take my chances with Richardson. There's at least a chance that he could sell it on while staying in the City.

With our current situation then is zero chance of a buyer. Which is the point I am trying to make. People's hatred for SISU clouds their judgement over the Ricoh and the role of ACL.

I would rather have SISU owning the stadium with the club getting the revenues and staying in the City. It seems I am in the minority however.

There's no doubt that the club would be more attractive to a purchaser if it owned the stadium, but I don't think that the lack of ownership is the reason that there's no buyer at the moment.

My view is that prospective purchasers have found SISU impossible to do an economically rational deal with. After all, SISU would be selling a loss-making company with no assets to speak of, so talk of SISU "getting their investment (whatever that may or may not be....) back" simply don't make any sense.

This is, I think, what TF was alluding to when he talked about "not selling at the bottom of the business cycle". The problem for SISU is that this nonsensical plan to move to Northampton will simply increase their losses, as revenues fall much much faster than any saving they may make on costs.

This is what makes people suspect that the plan is all a bluff designed to scare ACL/Council/Higgs into surrender, but as each day passes it appears that whether by accident or design, SISU are actually going to go through with it - after all, TF "doesn't bluff".

In this hypothetical scenario I would not call you hysterical for saying you would not trust Richardson with the stadium. The actions of his board when he was here have put an element of doubt in your mind. Similarly, I have no idea what Sisu would do with the Ricoh if they got hold of it but based on their previous actions you will have to forgive me if I am sceptical about what they could do with it.

I personaly dont believe it is a bluff, i believe if ACL, CCC dont come to the table to negotiate some kind of sale, SISU will go through with this ground share, even if it's for the short term

Very true, but the situation has changed with the FL now agreeing this ground share, SISU are now (even if we all agree opposite to the best interests of CCFC) in the position that they can take the football club away from the Ricoh and by so doing put pressure on ACL financialy.

Some time ago when the trust was reforming I spent some time reading the Supporters direct literature.
Apparently there is existing legislation available to give community asset status to facilities such as football stadiums.
I understand the aim and benefit of that is to give community bodies the right and extra time to bid for such assets if they are disposed.
ie protect against the fears that you hold against SISU.

Fair enough. Do you not think though that staying at the Ricoh is the most important thing for Coventry City, regardless of how that goal is achieved?
