Hi Mr Brody

Communication is improving although plenty now find time to moan that we get too much.

Keep up the ggod work :)

One of the questions i found pretty interesting was the supporter/customer thing. It's something i came across in one of my marketing modules this year, and in effect all supporters are are incredibly loyal customers to the club. Most fans HATE that assessment though! I seem to remember there being quite a backlash on here when it came up before! Imo, every club sees their supporters as customers, but i think how the club acts towards those 'customers' is what defines that question, and as of lately Coventry have definitely been making big efforts to get fans involved in a greater capacity.

I think your results from Coventry will be really mixed. Up until a few months ago, communication from the club was AWFUL, like trying to get blood from a stone. Since a new board was put in place it's completely changed, and i think we're now probably the most open club in the entire country in terms of communication with fans. We have a member of the board (and minority shareholder) on twitter (@lbrody), who answers any questions fans have with some pretty remarkable openness. And another initiative recently which is surely unprecedented was that a number of the board members (including the vice chairman, the CEO, Brody, and SISU's representative on the board) took part in a 'tweetup' at Costa coffee- they basically just put out the message on twitter that they'd be there to meet fans on a given day, and the 20-30 people that came got to meet them all and take part in an informal Q&A.
Interestingly, it's been suggested that the board have been TOO OPEN with us, by revealing news about Marlon King's contract before he'd actually signed it. If you're interested in that at all, i posted about it here a few days ago: http://www.skybluestalk.co.uk/threads/9199-Transparency-the-board-s-dilemma

CCFC might be a really interesting club for you to look into in more depth, possibly as a case study, for just how huge the change in their communication strategy has been over the last few months. And mentioning the issue of possibly being too open might net you a few marks for further developing your answer!

I wish i'd done something like this for my dissertation, unfortunately i was lumped into a coursework group with 5 girls! (Not as great as it sounds, haha). Best of luck!
