I find i slightly odd that it's automatically assumed a conclusion of talks that sees SISU obtaining ownership of the stadium in some way, shape or form is seen as bad.

Surely that suggests a lack of confidence in Ann Lucas?

Why can't a successful conclusion to talks be because both 'sides' have seen a way to resolution?

And if we accept that at least one of the 'sides' is taking a stand for the benefit of the football club, wouldn't resolution be because it's of benefit to the football club?

They are talking its a start, sure it may go tits up, but surely it's better than where we have been for the last few months. If deal can be struck who knows, I really hope it can so we can get our club back where it belongs In Coventry, and the various forums can talk football instead of the constant battle between fans regarding off field issues. Fingers crossed.

It is a step in the right direction.

As previously discussed, the three statements made in the last few days don't suggest that the parties have "moved on".

But we live in hope (if not expectation).

who in their right mind would buy the club without the stadium knowing they'd have to rent off and deal with sisu.

I would guess the theory would be CCFC under SISU ownership sign into a long term lease. SISU then put the club up for sale, into administration or threaten to liquidate leading to someone like Hoff or the trust taking over. You're right to say from a business standpoint it wouldn't make sense for anyone to take over but would their stance be takeover the lease or the club ceases to exist.

My fear is that if they get the freehold they load debt against it. I still think the best compromise agreement for CCFC and for CCC / ACL / Higgs is for CCFC to takeover ACL and pay off the council loan with the lease being changed to a rolling lease with peppercorn rent. That way CCFC have all the benefits of owning a stadium but there is security that SISU or indeed any future owner can't use the Ricoh for their own (rather than CCFCs) advantage.

The flip side of that of course is that going by Sepalla's telegraph interview she isn't interested in football and just wants her money back. The scenario I've outlined, whilst I believe is best for CCFC, won't see a £30m plus return for SISU anytime soon.

I agree with you NW...most positive I've been about things for the last couple of months... but having just read Texasholdem's thread on GMK accusing this forum of being so negative and others weighing in to slag the posters on here off...including one saying there would be at least a dozen on here contemplating suicide at the news(!) just feel the analysis of fan's reactions to news that is hardly earth shattering at this stage is certainly a little premature and possibly a tad unfair..
