At the FSF meeting a couple of months ago it was suggested one way to make a statement is for a huge number of people to all cancel their sports subscriptions within a 5 minute period. The next day they all then subscribe, once again within a 5 minute period. The theory is Sky's systems wouldn't cope and would crash.
I've been waiting for the bubble to burst for the last 10 years or so but this grotesque monster just keeps growing. It's got to happen one day and It'll be a joyous day when it does, even if a load of premiership clubs go bust in the process.
Why the *uck do the masses keep subscribing to this shit? Do they enjoy being ripped off? Is it a "must have" thing to keep up with the Jones' like all this Apple bollocks? It's for ****ing mugs.
If there hadn't been mass subscription to Sky Sports we'd all be watching major sporting events for free on BBC and ITV and players wouldn't be on the ludicrous sums of money for kicking a bag of wind about. I'm really pissed off because a whole host of sporting events have now been denied to me unless I yield to this extortion racket. And anyone who has Sky Sports but then pays an additional fee to watch boxing on "pay per view" needs their head examining. ****ing idiots!
Its worth what people are willing to pay for it...
What would the point in that be? Surely you'd be better off keeping your money in your pocket once you've unsubscibed?

how would that work ?, would the phones just been engaged for that 5 mins ?
Think you need to go and have a cold shower mate, calm down.
You get what you pay for with Sky Sports, I love it and couldnt live without it, and I get way more than my moneys worth for it. The ammount of sport you get on there is incredible and the coverage is second to none.
What would happen if people stopped buying sky? They wouldnt be alble to pay for the rights? Fair do's, but there are hundreds of companies/broadcasters out there that would pay the going rate if sky disappear and still charge you to watch the games. The current situation is the best for all involved.
If broadcasters werent able to pay the going rate to pick up and show the matches, the clubs would then begin to take control them themselves, you will be able to pay to stream every match from the team of your choice for whatever the club want to charge, that money wouldnt then go into a pot and be divided as currently happens. The gap between the big clubs and the minnows would become even greater.
Sky is the answer, let it go and jump on board!
Fucking hell. Thanks for contributing towards the shite that is modern football.

I don't need to calm down mate.....I'm not one of the mugs handing over £500+ per year to Murdoch & his bunch of cunts enabling them to continue to poison our national game.
If "Sky is the answer".....the question must be "who can we trust to simultaneously hype & fuck the future of football (and other sports) in this country?"
I feel a bit naive here .. I never realised sky telly could cost £70 a month .. Jesus Christ no wonder so many people stream from the internet.. So with the cost of a TV liscence which looks cheap now some people are are paying £1000 a year to watch TV .. That is mental

How have you got any right to tell someone how to spend their cash?
Where have I told him how he should or should not spend his cash. Seeing as you are on some sort of moral crusade; how have you got any right to tell someone what they should or shouldn't say?
not worth it for people like you or I but for other people who either have no common sense or are desperate for cash then yes it is worth it. Its all in perspective reallyPeople are willing to take out loans from Wonga. Is it worth it? People are willing to buy goods from Brighthouse. Is it worth it?
Each to their own and all that I guess. Still, as long as people have "informed choice" I'll try not to decry it.
Why are you so angry at the world?
Come up with an alternative for sky running British football yet?
Whats a half and half scarf? And no, Im usually in the casino at the Ricoh or travelling to an away game between the hours of 12-3.
Still no alternative though? Ive not for one moment suggested that Sky havent played there part in the state of football but what I am saying is there is no better alternative, so the sooner you get your head around that and embrace it and enjoy the huge talent on show week in week out, largely due to sky's money, the sooner you'll become a happier more relaxed individual.
I'm guessing youre one of these people that says "I hate SISU, look at what theyve done to my club, how dare they" but then can offer no reasonable alternative.
How to admit you are wrong in two words. Close the thread.
Imo it's not the amount Sky and BT have pumped in that is the problem. It's how the money from TV and commercial revenue is distributed. Football really could learn a lot from GAA.
he was poor again tonight
England out and bottom of their group
No surprise with Southgate as manager.

this should now put an end to the fa dream of that twat Southgate as the first team manager, he should resign today and if not be sacked he was no good in the first place and a born loser who couldn't even take a penalty, if I hadn't watched the game I would have thought they had won listening to his after match speech going on about possession.
