You think they aren't linked? Under the previous owners we missed out on signing Norton Cuffey on loan as we couldn't afford it. All of a sudden, we are able to make a couple of signings, which improves morale... The club was able to get the kits back on sale... The previous owners could have done that, but they chose not to... Im not saying this as a King supporter, I'm just willing to give him a chance to get his feet under the table and then see what happens, without listening to murmurs from potentially disgruntled employers / sponsors who are now seeing their gravy train trundle off into the distance.

To switch to a serious stance for a moment, I do think that’s fair. From the outside looking in he’s clearly ruffled a few feathers and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Time will tell whether he’s being overly/underly ambitious.

I think that’s a fair enough summary
We’ll see how it plays out
Biggest annoyance is he doesn’t have any background and should be building bridges not causing the waves he is
It’s fine when it’s people who are easily replaced
It’s also a big risk if you don’t listen to people that know more than you
Anyway let’s wait and see

That is in part true, but helped by the fact we left the window stronger than we started it and critically didn’t sell a key asset. That was too often not the case under Sisu. That gave everyone a lift inside the club and as supporters.

We are not even in July yet. I think there's a lot of panicking over nothing at the moment. If by first game of season we haven't signed a single body or very little I'd expect some questions raised but I think we will see a whole host of signings over the next few weeks. I'm probably the least ITK on here - I actually don't know anything! But it seems illogical to stress now when there's so much time left.

I don't know DK but so far he comes across as quite shrewd and makes decisions quickly and completely my own perception but quite an intelligent bloke overall even if he as he admits is on a learning curve. Let's just sit back and relax for a bit and see how things pan out.

I'd argue any of the behind the scenes people are relatively easily replaced. Any of the coaching staff definitely not!

Who are the people that know more than him though. The ones who are now leaving ( perhaps) the club have been massively underfunded on the business side for years, and people have probably been doing their job plus an assistants job as well, if not trying to cover work which really ahpuld be covered by a whole dept. However, when Boddy joined, most were nervy considering his previous work, most pointed the finger of blame in his direction last year for not having an eye on the pitch fiasco etc. Marketing people, are 10 a penny, Marketing is marketing and not something specialised in football. Of course they maybe proved right ( we are after all discussing heresay) but how does behind the scenes unrest tally up with, improvements at Ryton, implementing a scouting team. Increasing the numbers of the grounds team...

To be fair to @GIMOC, just heard from someone who would 1000% know about the hamer situation exactly what he’s said, he loves the club but club aren’t offering enough of an increase, balls is in covs court

bang on with the figures being quoted too by @Saddlebrains

give him that 2 grand extra a week DK or be prepared to have a pissed off SBA going in to what sounds like a rough summer

good luck…..

And there goes the spike in optimism

I had heard positive things about Hamer but I also appreciate that the club aren’t likely to change the wage structure by that amount.

Changing the wage structure for one player affects the whole squad, driving up wages. I don’t think that is what King has planned .

Discrepancy of a few thousand a week, peanuts to keep a player of that quality

it doesn’t affect the whole squad, as the best players get paid the most

Maybe so but I don’t think that is the clubs intent. A few thousand a week, affecting more than one player, soon adds up

Remember Doug likes to do things fast and not hang around. Such as the ramp up in ticket prices and boxes etc. So it’s no surprise he’s stirring it up at every part of the club.

GIMOC needs to have a serious word with his ‘source’. His ITK insights so far have been all over the place. Last week McNally was basically done, then it transpires we hadn’t even bid. Then Hamer was as good as signed, now the club is in “worst case scenario” territory. Fuck me.

Why does it affect more than one player?

I disagree with that argument that it affects squad morale etc

best players get paid the best money

I don’t get this, you won’t say too much as you are concerned about people’s livelihoods, but also by the same token you are on here suggesting X, Y and Z, posting criptic comments about what’s happening behind the scenes and what you are alluding to is likely to be picked up via other platforms and ran into the ground on social media.

Regardless of what happens at the Club and I’m sure that’ll be confirmed in due course, if you are genuinely concerned about people’s jobs I’d say nothing at all.

I don’t think it just affects morale. Some players and it might not affect CCFC squad, have a clause saying that they should have a wage review if someone else gets a pay raise.
Like a mortgage tracker

Either way, I think King will insist on a fairly rigid wage structure.

Still, when Robins has gone, maybe King can send Hamer out on loan to get some match experience

It's finally time for Kenny Jackett to step up
