Essentially it’s nowhere near and Hamer definitely hasn’t signed a 2 year extension today

In your personal opinion do you think there’s a deal that can be sorted by the club?

after king’s rally call yesterday you would hope so. all depends if the club want to change the wage structure. my personal opinion, they need to pull out all the stops for him personally. think we should know more by end of the week

Great. He’s worth 2 players wages if necessary. He is the heartbeat of our team.

Any wage structure that had Waghorn earning what he did needs to get in the sea.

All rumour and conjecture. Championship wages are generally not public knowledge. Any senior player arriving on a free will get more in wages as a consequence, that's just the way it works.

Like any club you have your top earners and in general they should be your prize assets. Hamer is so influential and proven himself, we need to build the team around him. You give him the wages we save from Waghorn as an example. Worth every penny.

this is it. We know what we are getting. We aren’t chucking top money around for a player who has never played for us. What’s his market value? Around 10m? Well we have a 10m midfielder who many others fans describe as a joy to watch.
Worst case scenario he has a bad season and we need to sell for 5m next season. No risk in my opinion

If Hamer wants to stay im sure a compromise will be found. The club has a basic wage cap, but surely they can add in bonuses or incentives for things like promotion to bridge the gap

If both parties want each other they will find a way. If not the club has to decide on what is best going forward.

We'll need that money for Waghorn's replacement assuming we want a proven goalscorer! Same for Tyler. There's no magic money pot I'm sorry to say but that is what King and Robins have been telling us for months. I hope they can find a way to keep Hamer but it won't all be about money for him.

I get the feeling he just loves being here at the club, the area he lives, loved by the fans. I won’t get my hopes up, as he is a cut above the championship.

Reminded me of that crazy guy who used to make curries for the new players who joined the club.. sure they were nice curries but how did he always manage to get his food to new signings…

Couple of things from twitter tonight.

1- Dawkins out with Grennan and Hamer today.
2 - (not twitter) According to GIMOC, Hamers representatives meeting today about a new deal
3- Reply to PSB'S tweet about Hamer signing "a load of bollocks" -Liked by Dawkins this evening.
4- A tweet of mine saying losing Vik AND Hamer would be a disaster- liked by Dawkins this evening.

Yes, we all know that making assumptions can be dangerous- but a bit here possibly pointing to a "no deal"??

I know Gus was at some record signing thing in Leamington.

Think point 3-4 is Dawkins saying he hasn’t signed anything yet and Vik/Gus are 2 of our most influential players.

GIMOC saying we should know by the end of the week what the deal is.

The fact it was liked this evening though knowing the talks today

think 2 + 2 is 4 in this case

Kind of what I was thinking- both tweets liked this evening. Dawkins doesn't follow me, so presume he searched for Hamer and wanted to put out some of his own frustrations cryptically- he has openly said he would renew his box if the club showed ambition by renewing Hamers contract.

I'll live in hope until the club says otherwise - it would be very frustrating if a deal was within our grasp and the opportunity was not taken...
