The best offer we’ve had according to anyone on here is £5m isn’t it? I think some on here valued him at £15m

I think I said £5m at one point

And the club apparently laughed it off. Surely even you can see he’s worth more than that

You don't actually think he's only worth 5 mill though ? I'm also not sure that people on here know what's been bid

If he’s genuinely the best midfielder in the division it is odd that there hasn’t been a cluster of bidders. Wolves offered £22m to Bristol didn’t they?

I really don't understand the point he's trying to make. I'd imagine most Dutch teams would sign him.

1. Scott is contracted to 2025
2. You know as well as anyone that young English players are priced at a premium

I think 1 year left on his contract and given he’s not English not at an age where he’s likely to get a massive growth on sell on fees if a large fee is paid out and - crucially - the type of clubs who would look to buy him we’d possibly get around £7 £8m if he retains the form he did in the second half of last season

So what's happened here grendel is you set your mast in place a couple years ago with hamer and now he's turned out to be a fantastic footballer you can't imagine a world where you turn around and say he's a top player at this level ..

Comparing him to a future potential England International is doing you no favours either .

I said his value is probably £7 £8m which makes him one of the best

He’s often referred to as the best which there is no evidence for given the relative lack of activity to sign him

I’m not aggressive, you’re just a complete tool. YOU made the claim about Feyenoord not wanting him and then asked me if I was the Dutch expert. I didn’t offer any kind of opinion, other than my opinion of you. Your augments are so demented at times it’s genuinely concerning.

Looked the best midfielder in championship last season.

Last season the evidence was in the statistics.. he performed beyond Alex scott and Bristol by some way ..

For a central midfielder , he racked up similar numbers to the superb Iliman Ndiaye who is an attacking midfielder just sold for 22 mill

On paper last season , arguably the best central midfielder in the league

You said it was 'criminal' we didn't sell him for £5m last summer.

We all know what he went on to achieve and contribute last season.

No he didn’t, which means what. They considered Wilson the best keeper.
A lot of opposition fans and coaches thought he was regularly the difference between two teams.
Everone is entitled to their opinion, you just don’t seem to like opinions that don’t agree with yours,

You laughed at me saying he was worth 5m actually

Any low offers now will be due to contract situation where clubs think it's not worth spending too much if bide time and try get on a free.

He's goes for double figures if years on contract I would say. Although no one knows of any concrete bids one way or the other .

There are two subtly distinct arguments anyway, and the conclusion for both is sell him.

Either he intends to leave at the end of his contract, and the destination is irrelevant. In which case Gyokeres showed a year left is no barrier to a fat fee if a player has enough admirers, and there'll be enough interested clubs that one will be if interest to the player. Shame it couldn't have been done quicker and cleaner like Gyokeres, but taking the cash is only right.

Or, he's homesick and therefore limits a transfer to a limited number of not overly wealthy clubs. If it's for personal reasons that risks affecting his performances, and it really isn't the ethical thing to do to force a player to stay for a year longer when there are valid mental health reasons why he needs to move. Therefore, the only conclusion must be to sell, accept the fee is substantially lower, but insert a nice fat sell on fee in case those personal issues resolve.

The wildcard option would be to agree to loan him to a Dutch club with an option to buy maybe, in exchange for him signing an extension.

I predict he stays - his need to see his son every 5 minutes is never mentioned again - and he goes to the highest bidder for him in the summer

Or he stays and plays and keeps his options open:

1) Scenario promotion: he can demand £40k per week from us and a fat signing fee and be a PL player.

2) Scenario no-promotion: he can leave on a free, get £40k (or whatever), and a big signing fee and be a top flight player somewhere.

Much as I hate to say, accepting £25k or whatever and be potentially tied to a second tier club might not be so attractive.

(And I know injury risk, a good agent sorts insurance for that)[/QUOTE]
