I'm saying they are very different things. He has signed a contract and at the end of that contract he can leave and go wherever he wants. At the end of a modern slaves useful existence if they are unlucky they may get a bullet as they could talk about their experiences. Are they comparable?

Modern slavery doesn't tend to involve legitimate, binding, closely scrutinised contracts, signed under zero duress. You are funny, though. Keep saying funny things, pls!

To be honest I’m at the point now of what will be will be. If we are desperate for some cash I’m sure he will be flogged before the deadline if the club get the offer they want.

if they don’t and he stays and runs his contract down yes it will frustrating to have lost out on a fee for him but we will get another year out of him. I don’t think he’s the type of player to down tools if he doesn’t get what he wants. It also gives us another year to scout a decent replacement and also potential for him to change his mind.

You had the option to leave as a teacher when you were unhappy

It’s incredibly cruel to force someone to stay as they can’t escape the chains of their contract

All modern liberal people on here would want kindness for an individual above selfish gains surely?

The big difference being that I as a teacher was hired on a permanent contract whereas a footballer's is fixed term.

I heard he'd looked into the Eurostar to Amsterdam but didn't like the sandwich offerings in first class. More of a croque monsieur kind of guy.

No it's a discussion about Hamer, hence the title of the thread.

Good, because you finally realise your argument is so flawed that you can't keep digging. Take it as a self improvement opportunity!

You don't believe most of what you say, which is probably the nauseating bit. Like GB News or Fox News cretins; saying things for clicks or a pay cheque. CBA now. Enjoy your argument.

Surely Grendel’s last dozen or so posts have just been sarky extreme statements of the liberal point of view he attributes to everyone else on here? Am I misinterpreting?

No I’m just aghast that say someone could be in a ten year contract and regardless of any personal trauma they have you would demand they do as they are told and serve their contract - no exceptions

Never!

And the irony of so called sympathy for an individual unless it carries a value that could hinder someone else’s enjoyment

How ironic!

Depends on his reasons for leaving.

Then if it's for a Dutch team and they can't offer as high a price we need to get a load of incentives added into the contract to make up for any loss in transfer fee.
