Kent is a 3 hour drive away - a flight to Amsterdam is what? 40 minutes? Pay a fiver for fast track security you’re through in 5 minutes.

He may do, When I last moved role I spoke to multiple companies in London where salary would be higher but they wanted me in the office 3 days a week and I have a young child so I told them to do one and stayed local. Money isn't the be all and end all.And after all this , he might even stay .. it's his life

If it's affecting him so much he wants to leave the country then the honourable thing to do is let him join a Dutch club if his choice for a fee now, whatever that may be, rather than keep him here being miserable for a year.But why would the club do that?
