Why wouldn't he pass a medical?

For the same reason that he couldn't play the other night. He's maybe getting there now,,,

I don't think his injury would hinder any potential transfer move to be honest

Burnley appear to be low balling Sunderland with Clarke and Millwall with Flemming too. Appears both have told them to get fucked.

Does Kompany think he has such gravitas that it'll turn the players' heads or is it just Burnley not being that well off and trying to get the best price?

I'm guessing both. Big head does appear to be arrogant but i'm sure i read they weren't that well off, at least in comparison to most teams with prem money.

We don't know the extent of the injury of course but it's clearly been worse than a straightforward ankle sprain. He's unlikely to be fully match fit for the start of the season now..

Millwall want upwards of £13m for Flemming, think we were loosely linked when he was at Fortuna Sittard

Probably the kind of player we could have bought in if it was this summer, unfortunately. Hopefully we got the next one lined up.

Don't really like suggesting players too much as if i'm some sort of scout but a player i've been keeping an eye on in the Dutch league for a while is Million Manhoef at Vitesse. Would have thought he might have attracted bigger and better than us but not seen anything about him moving yet. Hope he's one we've got an eye on.

A good investment by Milwall...cost them just over £1m a year ago, and they now want £13m.
Shame we were potless last year.

Right you fuckers, I’ve had a major long term work stress and a major long term family distress resolved this week, two massive weights off my shoulders.

Now the only problem in my life is Gustavo Martin Emilio Hamer’s contract status. Let’s get this resolved City, it’s the waiting that kills you.

From today's official training photos, hoping this means that Gus has said "forget the talk, I just want to play" Much better than those pics of him not being involved or working on his own/non-contact training.

The CET flash a picture of Hamer holding a city shirt so I thought he signed an extension but it’s about donating his wembley shirt.

Great idea but what a tease from CET!!

And he put two fingers on both hands up to the camera in the latest video post which definitely 100% means he's signing a new four year deal....

I think we probably need to stop looking for signs Gus might sign and let it play out. Player smiles at workplace with friends, probably isn't indicative of him staying. Likewise, player who doesn't smile in every shot, isn't really unhappy about being here.

The guy just loves playing football. If he wasn't hurt at Wembley he'd be with us in the PL. A great, great shame but he needs to move on for himself now and become a legend.

Yep. At least we'll win some games and have a good season this year, if all goes to plan.

If we can replicate last season's amazing journey, there's no reason Hamer can't be an active and important part of our run to the Prem this year. If he then chooses to try new pastures after that, regardless of the clubs success, I'm pretty certain no Cov fan would stand in his way. Also, sticking with us and gaining Prem experience would add to his value and enable him to pick his path rather than be bartered over at this level with no real say.

While I sort of get what your saying, I am confused about the legend bit?
He could stay and keep us moving forwards and become a legend. Or he could move to a top preniership side and be on the bench, where players don't often earn legend status. Do you mean financial maximise his football earning potential?
