I was told end of last season the arrangement at the club was Hamer would be sold if deals over 10 come in, at that time 3 clubs knew the price and were still interested. Vik was gaining interest and club had 12 mill on him, since then its changed and his value has gone up. Ohare the figure was 8 which again i think that has increased.

Now i was told this but like all things that are said not all are correct or turn out to happen. However some of these figures are starting to ring true and the club do seem to be holding strong on what's wanted. The longer that goes on the interested parties will have to make a decision or seek alternative targets.

Key for us is the players don't seem to be creating issues or downing tools, i think this group is close and know we are close to doing something special. I also get the feeling this group police themselves they know what the goal is and are building a culture of what's expected of you as a player if you are to stick around.

They do, West Ham paid a fee of up to £12m for a Championship midfielder this week, clearly clubs just don’t think ours are worth it. That may change when we get more desperate for money

You never know Sissu may have come to the conclusion that, as the club are working within budget, and their other investments are doing so well, they will be prepared to see how it goes until Christmas and go for the promotion push !!
Excuse me got to go, there are some people in white coatscoming up my drive way....

Maybe they’re not as highly rated by other clubs as they are on here, we do have inflated ideas about their quality and worth ( hopefully that’ll keep them under the radar )

What garbage. As previously stated by the more sensible posters our players just aren't rated anywhere near as highly as the fanbase seem to.

That's only likely to happen in the final few weeks/days in the window though.

Which would come with its own complications, especially with the club looking to replace the outgoing at potentially very short notice.

Are there any "good" replacements in our budget (£0 + wages) for a possible £8-10m player!!?
That's how hard he will be to replace!!

Of course there is. I doubt we'd pay a replacement as much as hamer is on now, maybe 5 grand a week less, giving us a couple of million to spend on a transfer fee aswell. Hamer, O'hare, Sheaf and Gyokores were brought in under such terms. No reason we can't to it again.

Can't take credit for this stats analysis, this is from TR_ANALYTICS on Twitter but my general assessment is very good player with an incredibly high ceiling at still just 21 years old.

Bit of a different profile to Hamer & you'd be right in your assessment about him being less progressive but I think that could come in time. He's more of a ball carrier than Hamer though.

I like this little assessment, think it sums Bird up pretty well.

Either way, can't see him being allowed to leave Derby on the cheap given his enormous potential so think it's probably a non-starter.

Interesting, enormous potential, does that mean you think he could be on the radar of top 4/6 clubs in England? Or a bit lower?

Put me on the spot here STP!

I wouldn't think quite that high personally, I am not sure his physical development will ever reach that level. By that I don't just mean his strength etc. but also lacks a bit of explosiveness & change of pace for his role.

He could definitely be a potential Premier League player if he continues progressing. Maybe will develop to be more of a sitting CDM type unless he can improve on the above but a very exciting talent, one that will surely be too expensive for us.

I think we’d be looking at £3-4m+ for Bird; that’s how highly rated he is.
