Suggesting next season is the one is pretty naive in truth - all clubs strengthen and clubs emerge from the pack or League One as Ipswich and after a season Luton - - the 3 relegated teams will always be a challenge and the league is very tight for play offs most seasons

The focus in January needs to be to sign players and somehow be 6th to get a shot at promotion - next season is impossible to forecast

Am I ? fuck all to do with a name, I believe what I read on here, of course we won’t win every game but for “experts” seems you are have now become one to suggest we wait until next season is mind boggling.

I just wish we could start well for once. We know that a few more wins earlier in the season would've had us fighting for autos.

22/23 we had the mess with the stadium that hurt us.

23/24 we’ve had an almost entirely new squad to settle in.

If we don’t go up this year then hopefully we should be able to start 24/25 on the right foot.

I reckon we make play offs this season but fall short again. Small consolation, we get to watch us slap Hamers blunts next season.

Sometimes I don't know if you're being serious or not. This is one of those.

So why won't next season be the one and not this one? As expected a slow start. Very difficult to change nearly a whole side. Too late to get top 2 place even though we're now looking very good. But we look good for a playoff place.

Compare it to next season. Nearly all our best players are under decent length contracts so we have a good idea who most of our players will be. No bedding in of new players struggling to pick up a new but gast style of football. No having to climb the table from near the bottom with just over half a season to go.

While I usually agree with you, I don't on this one.
We've finally got a base, a proper squad that isn't filled with loans. We're a side built on potential, a couple more additions and we could have the strongest squad we've had for decades. There's no excuse we shouldn't come out firing the beginning of next season either, none of this slow start bollocks. I know there's variables, but we look like we'll have most bases covered.

Can see this from both sides, there will almost certainly be less churn of players next close season which should make the squad far more stable and be more conducive to making a great start.
However, Grendels also right, there are so many variables, including the new TV money that no one knows for sure how next season will pan out.

I still haven't given up on our chances this season.

I don’t think we actually had that bad a start. We won a couple early and we were in the games we lost by and large.

Does depend how successful we are
Say we finish fourth and lose play off final again and big bids come in for saka, kitching, Thomas, sheaf, wright and mve they may all be unbelievable offers and although we’d maybe have lots of money we’d have to replace players again

So you answer the question then does Robins ease up so we lose a few so we can have a go next season rather than this, can I suggest you message Robins and suggest it and let us all know what he says.

Yes I think we should try to lose as many games as possible mate. Just messaged me back saying that's what he's trying to do but Haji keeps fucking scoring

Difference is they're all on long contracts, Gyokeres and Hamer had to go once the bids came in or we'd have lost them for free. We could get a great fee for one or two of them but we won't be selling that many players next summer. Van Ewijk looks like the one premier league would love, he has the blistering pace which is necessary for a top level full back

With 2-3 years left on their deals they would have to be truly unbelievable offers. And taking in £50m or something silly in transfer income would only be good in the long term.
