Rushworth has made a few good saves, but don’t the underlying numbers point to us actually just being quite good in both boxes?

I do understand / get that feeling myself (re; us being lucky in some games), but I think most of it is us having to get used to having a competent goalkeeper and quality forwards!

I do think luck/fortune comes into it, definitely. He won’t go stopping those shots and 1 on 1’s all season. Neither will defenders be almost accidentally stood in right places to block shots which happened against Blackburn and someone else.

Make your own luck, but it’s not always like that. It shouldn’t be forbidden for us to point out we get away with things sometimes.

Unfortunately our run came to an end ( although we still haven’t lost a league game in England …… if that counts ? )
In the end a disappointing evening , with a good few off colour , but look where we are & the boys go again on Tuesday , to another packed stadium ….
Onwards & upwards Skyblues

People can see and coukd have predicted this. And did.

Play the wrong formation. Lampards reminding me of Keegan at Newcastle. And we know how that went.

They finished 2nd in the premier league

I think many of us have accepted we were short of strength last night and the loss was deserved.

Would it be too far to say some of our fans needed it? A couple of seasons ago we beat Leeds at the arena and they reacted very sourly, as if we should’ve just stepped aside and took a pounding. I’ve picked up few vibes of the same attitude since last night…

I was disappointed in the manner of the defeat last night and how tactics weren't changed when it was inevitable they were going to equalise. However, I have always felt our thin squad was going to catch up with us. We have done so well without Rudoni but with Torp struggling and defensive injuries and suspensions, it really showed.
Anyone watching Wrexham's defeat v Cardiff could see that Keiffer Moore would cause us problems, particularly without Thomas for a bit of aggression. Woolfenden just doesn't seem to have that, at least on last night's showing. He tries to play cute, which was not what was needed. A fit Latibeudiere, despite being short in comparison, would have handled Moore more effectively.

If you play open, attacking football, you have to accept that you are going to concede chances/goals, and may occasionally lose games.
By playing in such an open manner (to score all those goals), there is an element of risk....you won't always outscore your opponents.
We just had one of those games.

A lot of people criticising the tactics were those that before the game were picking a team without Sakamoto who was probably our best player last night, and is a player that helps provide shape and discipline to our team. Injuries, suspensions and form largely dictated the team we played last night, and in retrospect BTA was probably the player that needed to be omitted in favour of another midfielder the way the game played out, but given his recent form that was never going to happen. Big call moving forward but I don't think we can start with all of Saka, BTA, Wright & EMC, without risking getting overrun in midfield and being dominated like we mostly were last night.

Do you think Rudoni does more than BTA in terms of dropping in to help the midfield or do you think a total change of formation is needed regardless?

I think a 433 as opposed to the 4231 from last night will work again like it did most season.

BTA has been great this year and his work rate whilst on the wings is massive tracking back etc ... I don't think he has technical enough to drop into a midfield like Rudoni is

Yes, agree with that. BTA doesn't have the skill or control that Rudoni has but its not really fair to compare them as BTA is a forward who we shoehorned into that position as we couldn't really leave him out given his hot form.

Yeah I agree. He has been undroppable but I think even with Eccles in there we would have had a stronger underbelly... I would say however, this is purely 5pm Jury with 20/20 hindsight.

I think the loss isn't great but brings people down to earth a lil bit even the players. Some of the interviews from players and the dribble our fans have been posting online is a cringe so early on. I do want to see a bounce back on Tuesday of sorts. The injuries just caught up yesterday realistically having 5 first teamers out we couldn't compete to best of our ability. Big loss next game will be kitching after picking up his 5th yellow of the season

Don't think the cup game counts so I would assume he is still available. Hopefully Bobby will be back too

I think the frustration is rhat we got away with playing 2 in the middle v Blackburn and even 10 man Watford dominated us second half with an Allen and Grimes midfield

Why Frank insisted on setting up that way tonight is seemingly what's pissed people off

Its been coming for a few games now and the fact nothing was done to mitigate it is whats got my goat

No problem with the loss, Wrexham by far the better side
Personnel by the look of it, not sure about that myself, anyway going away from home is a bit rich with a two but revolutionary all the same, truth is we had it under control first half while being lacklustre overall.
We allowed ourselves to get bullied by kiefer, three seemed generous from us defensively up pops Sakamoto.

We're still top of the form table despite last nights defeat.

We were missing 5 of our first choice starting line up against Wrexham, with a very small squad.
Our second choice players are not as good, as you would expect, else they would be first choice. Also, some of them have not had many minutes this season and it showed.
Lot of people were predicting 3 at the back to match Wrexham. Simply could not do it, as we had too many injuries.
Even our Assistant was not there. Lots of bugs going around at the moment.
