Think he’s a better third striker option than BTA personally. But as he’s only got a year left I wouldn’t be surprised to see him go to a Championship side for a decent fee considering his excellent record at this level.
Both equally poor, BTA and Simms have both flattered to deceive

Not sure what that means when they’re both in the top goals per minute in the league TBH and don’t think we’ve got the budget to bring in two strikers in the summer.

There will be players on our books who will do surprisingly well in the Prem. I’ve got a feeling Simms could surpass expectations to be honest. Wright will do alright too imo.

We will have to change the way we play and some players will struggle to adapt, some will thrive.

FWIW, we will need to strengthen all over and I’d include a striker to shopping list.

Yeah I think we need to bring a new profile of striker in, one who can hold the ball when we have little possession, but i think Wright and Simms are more than capable of being second and third choice for a lower prem team. Simms already has been and Wright has attracted interest from that level.

Indeed. Simms had a spell as Everton first choice and scored at Chelsea.

I've been thinking about this.
There are things they'll come up against in the prem which they won't have experienced, the pace in transition of even some of the average teams for example.

But there are other things that wont happen, some of the challenges Derby put in on Friday for example, (3 on Eccles in the first half), they won't happen, or if they do, the ref will produce cards which doesn't happen on the Chsmpionship.

Will this enable players to express themselves more and be a bit more productive either the ball?

We also will face different tactical challenges, for example, we won’t be facing the mid to low blocks nearly as often because we will presumably be used to having ~40% possession.

My criticisms of Sakamoto was mostly to do with attacking output, particularly taking players on and so on. Despite that, he was a player I thought would have a niche role because his strengths are off the ball.

Simms, BTA and Haji will all benefit from going up against higher defensive lines.

Forwards wise I think we’ll go in with Wright, Simms and BTA. We need the investment more in other areas. I don’t think we’ll be playing a game where we are asking them to hold it up more. We’ll mix it up. Prem defences are not used to a dose of directness. We might have some joy with it but it will take us longer to get the ball back

No chance, we will 100% invest in a striker, or two.

We simply cannot go into the prem with Wright and Simms, they will get bullied in Prem.
BTA will chase loose balls and run round a lot and is fine for the bench, he’s got a bit of muscle to hold his own.
The other two lack that mental resilience and strength

I think Lampard will know if a striker is good enough, hes played with a few...

Wright & Simms will be out the door. He doesnt rate them but its all we have so he's had to work with it.

Not so sure. In reality we need a very good keeper, a left back, one possibly 2 centre halves and competition for Grimes and Onyeka. Esse will go so we’ll need cover there. Doesn’t leave much to do anything at the most expensive end of the pitch.

I thought the whole point of signing Markhelo was to replace Esse when his loan is up

I think Markelo would be better served sticking around the squad to properly settle because he wont be fully settled here if he goes out on loan so when he comes back he’s really no further to settling and being ready
