I was always a defender of Murphy!

As for Wright, I've personally never heard the fans getting on his back and hear his song being sung quite a lot.

Others have mentioned him getting shit at games, and I don't agree with it but if I've not heard it myself, though I don't doubt it happened.

Clint ,.around by me it is incredibly toxic about haji wright in the stands

Some bannable words used about him infront of me at charlton ( i almost said something but knew id end up fighting )

I think some of the frustration with Haji comes from the absolutists on both sides of the argument.

His detractors never give him any credit when he’s doing well and his supporters see nothing wrong with him when he’s performing badly.

It causes frustration from both sides which entrenches positions.

Agree with some but not all , hes not massively underperforming his XG but is still underperfoming ..

He was imvolved in 3 great forward moves for us at charlton , where we should have done better , he is involved but fans are now noticing all the bad stuff first and foremost , which is why its toxoic now

I don’t disagree that overall as a team we should be doing better with chances whether it be Charlton or other games, and when you look at it Haji isn’t the only playing struggling with form (Rudi and Saka as examples).

I think Frank got it wrong a couple of times recently. He dropped simms when I don’t think he should have. Then having put wright in, he dropped him for simms, when I actually thought wright had played well and been unlucky not to have scored.

Just for the record: I definitely know more about football and the players conditions than Frank Lampard and his entire back room staff

He should’ve scored against Norwich, Oxford, Sheffield Wednesday, Bristol City, Preston, Southampton (arguably tries to win the pen) and Charlton.

Haji is missing big chances consistently, in big moments, which are proving to be fine margins in games and ultimately costing us points - he’s not alone of course but the frequency in which he is missing big chances is alarming and the onus as our main striker is on Haji to score goals

Add to this he hasn’t scored
since 4th October and in the games he’s featured in since his injury, his overall contribution has been little IMO.

He may have scored a good number of goals overall since his arrival, but his lack of consistency and ability to be effective for us in moments of need has me lacking his suitability for us.

It’s disappointing as someone else posted this morning on this thread potentially, Haji has all attributes to be a really good striker, but whether it’s confidence, ability or mentality, something just isn’t right with him.

I will also say in Haji’s defence, that I think he was rushed back into the starting lineup too soon from injury and that’s on Lampard, Simms had scored five in three starts, he should’ve never been dropped.

The best strikers miss big chances because the best strikers get big chances.

Hajis stats tell you all you need to know. He’s one of the best strikers we’ve ever had for scoring goals, better than Vik. Everything else is noise quite frankly.

I'd say that equation is changing, Haji is 27, Simms is 24 and less injury prone.
At present I'd say Haji is only worth 1.5 times what Simms is, mainly because he's been more consistent over each season.

His stats tell us he hasn't scored since October.
If he gets 2 multi million pound moves that pocket us a couple of big sell on fees then I'll entertain the silly Vik comparisons.

Unfortunately for wright the way he plays if he isn’t scoring is always going to get criticised, if he’s scoring goals nobody would be giving a shit, which is a bit strange because that’s what Simms is doing ?

But I honestly just don't get the point of it?
Most people know he's capable of giving us what we need, it's that he hasn't, for months.

How long do you persevere?

We're in a battle for automatic promotion, we need people to step up.

Will be interesting to see what Lampard does when BTA is available again. To an extent he’s had to stick with Wright due to lack of options.

Same could be said of Simms though too.

Simms, when he hasn't been on the top of his game, can look like a pub player at times. Same goes for many players. When they are out of form, they look distinctly average, or worse.

I think you there, have hit on the difference. Rudi and Saka are also struggling for form.
But you can see both of them busting a gut working for the team, and actively trying. Whilst Haji just ambles around seemingly sulking and showing no interest.
I’m sure he doesn’t mean to, but it looks bad and that’s what is pi**ing fans off.

I know we squashed our beef which i have no intention of restarting but I'm absolutely convinced you have something to do with Simms. You only ever respond to comments about Simms, complained about 'disgusting comments' which was mainly people just saying he wasn't any good, but ignored a direct response to your post saying Haji was "a waste of oxygen who should be hounded out the club" and now you're slagging off the manager who has us top of the league. Bizarre.
For what its worth I think your client/cousin/friend/distant relative (delete as appropriate) looks much better this seas

I am no relation, friend, etc of Simms. I don't believe I slagged Frank off. Certainly criticised him , for picking out of form Wright, over Simms. Simms 7 in 8, Wright 0 in 12. I don't believe I have slagged Haji off either, apart from saying he looks "disinterested".

Always going to be out of form, if you are not playing. Wright hasn't scored in 12, Simms 7 in 8 starts. Doesn't seem like rocket science.

I was a bit disappointed with Hajis reaction at Charlton after he went off. All I saw was encouragement and he walked right past us without any acknowledgement. I get he was annoyed at missing the chances, we all were, but he didn't even look up.

Not really sure what this is about.

When Vik was misfiring for us he was still causing opposition teams huge problems. He was fighting for everything and never gave up once or shit out of any challenge. I think that is the thing most people are annoyed about with Wright. He is doing the opposite.
