Been a good year for Coventry.

The press and general public do not see them as a Coventry team. Up north, people don't even realise they play in Coventry.

Can't disagree with any of that Italia and they're some of the reasons why I've fallen out of love with football over the years. My point still stands though...Rugby, where actions can cause life changing injuries, occur more often than in football and are more dangerous, yet it's called a gentlemans sport.
Probably because the gents of the game wouldn't employ such tactics. Just the odd thug that can't resist the opportunity. Every contact sport attracts them. Even some none contact ones do...triathlon/open water swims, cycling increasingly. Give it a few yrs & snooker players will be whacking each other with cues on tv, & darts players will end up having to wear some sort of safety helmet to protect themselves!

I know you were replying to Terry Gibsons perm but this post is so blinkered I felt the need to reply.

I also used the train to get to Wembley. I drove to Beaconsfield and got on the train which was predominantly full of Oxford fans. Nice atmosphere no trouble, no one drunk, no bad language, and jokes between supporters. We got off the train unsheperded right by Wembley, no police, nothing.

On the way back we went through a mass of Oxford fans to the station. No trouble, no bitterness, nothing. On the platform we chatted to lots of their fans with absolutely no problems at all. they were all polite, friendly and gracious in defeat. The same on the train back.

You cant judge anyone by your experiences and I have had more of the pleasant experience like above than ever a bad one. You can get dicks on the train all the time, who are drunk or abusive and predominantly I find its nothing to do with football.

Yep...it is true - it can be done & makes for a much more enjoyable experience imo

Got the train up from Brighton at 8.30am and there a fair few Cov fans on there drinking can already and caused no issues. On the tube to Wembley the most abusive behaviour was by a group of Irish drunken Irish girls.

The worst behaviour I saw all day was someone pushing in the queue for the toilet.

You have to contrast this with things like smashing the bar up at MK Dons a while back...that one springs readily to mind...but that's just Cov...we're on about the whole game. It seems to still attract people with a pretty shit attitude to others

Really? That's why on drunken drivel some bloke from Exeter admitted he told a woman with a whistle who supported wasps to fuck off?

Like me you weren't there so don't know the tone or how much he knew of her. She might've already been using language & he perhaps said 'I wish you'd fuck-off with that whistle' & a cheeky grin. You're just assuming it was threatening

I know this is League, but:

It's when the women join in.

Friday night crowd fracas at Bristol is latest example of rugby's falling standards

Wales v England: 'Idiotic' fans ruin big match atmosphere in Cardiff city centre
A fight breaks out amongst Northampton and Saracens fans

Let's not pretend none of it goes on in Rugby. There will be bellends in any sport, it's just that lots more go to watch football every week.

That's without starting on "Rugger lads" nights out or antics with kangaroo courts, drinking pints of piss, soggy biscuit. Used to be a weekly event a group of rugby blokes would kick off back in the day.

It's a minority, not the majority. The behaviour of the Wasps' players during their boat party was just as bad, if not worse.

Wasps investigate Wasps and decide Wasps have done nothing wrong. No wonder they get on so well with the council.

No further action required isn't the same as nothing happened is it...

Having seen a couple of Rugby parties there was not much that was usual about it. Granted, that was just drinking piss, puking into the glass and then drinking that.

Just like the good old days some of mates at my local Hockey Club used to tell me about...a couple of female slippers gang banged & pissed & puked on too.

Again it happens in all sports.

And that brushing under the carpet happens weekly with the FA & RFU & BOC & LTA...etc

Actually the Telegraph reported it first. Still as you are being told what to say on here by them I guess you'll support their version of events.

Especially as, no doubt, the "private investigator" was commissioned by the same person who tells you how to represent them on here.

I have no facts other than the Sun report which has never challenged the Wasps investigation.
I would take an educated guess that it was an adult evening and a few staff making some money stretching their story.
Couldn't blindly follow a loose story like that but I can see why the Sisu believers might be vulnerable.

Again, you still hold the record for being the biggest "SISU Believer" on here. Nice try at throwing that line in then.

Have a look at links from other news outlets too then.

It was a perfect example of not being completely gentlemanly like you like to make out.

You have already said "adult evening"

What about the other examples I posted, the rugby fans fighting ones?

Not saying it never happens, but
Can only go on my own experiences of the past few years of following CCFC and Wasps.
I have never seen fans falling out at a Rugby match.

It's exactly that, the minority spoiling something for the majority. It just so happens the the minority of football fans in numbers equal the entire amount of Rugby fans (in total) across the country so trouble is fewer and further between!

But the incidence of dangerous elbows (sometimes with intent) in football can do even more damage than eye gouging.

Most contact sports have their unacceptable destroying tactics & those willing to practice them.

In general I would much rather watch a rugby international for excitement & entertainment than much of the drivel served up in the Premiership & European cups

So they had their big day out at Twickers, 82,000 watched the game v Exeter. Having been in Coventry since they won their play off game last week, the City of Coventry did not have the feel of a major club about to win / compete forthe biggest domestic prize. Knew very few people who went to the game, no flags o/ scarves on cars, etc..

If they had won would there have been an open-top bus parade around Coventry - I doubt it. Very bizarre the Ricoh is attracting surprisingly big crowds but I think their support come from far and wide plus still believe these new fans are more fans of rugby / sport in general rather than specifically die hard WASPS fans. But the capacity of the Ricoh unlike Welford Road ensures that there is always room to accommodate uncommitted fans.
