Where did you get those figures from?

You don't sell your house under market value, and then when someone comes to view it and criticises the kitchen set up, proceed to reduce it by a further 50%.

We've got such a weak minded attitude to this transfer it is unreal.

That’s not the same analogy - it’s more like in 1 years time the bank is taking your house, for £0

you don’t sell your house for peanuts at the start but the value is reducing every day because you’re not gonna get anything in a years time.

you’ve also got to look at selling, because you need to get a new house

My mates just messaged to say I've let somebody out of my back pocket on this site?

FYI Grendal don't bother trying it on again for attention as i can't see what the latest insult is as i've blocked you old boy.

Apologies everyone just needed to drive home the message again. You wont get a response again Grendal so don't bother.

I agree and Gyokeres need's to be VERY careful on what he wants to do. Fine, sit out the last 12 months and go for a free. However, if he stays and gets a bad injury (and all players get one eventually) then he could be making a decision that is life changing for him and one that he would be crackers to risk by sitting out the last 12 months.

It works out a high risk strategy and if it was my son i'd be advising against doing such a thing. There is also a moral issue here as well. Without CCFC Gyokeres may never have been given the time and coaching to develop. He should remember this as well and give back to the club an opportunity to be rewarded financially for giving Gyokeres that platform.

Sadly some players don't have that mindset which in my book is the difference between a good honest human being to a greedy self centred reptile.

I still think he will be gone late next week once one club starts the bidding war....

Bit harsh - what makes you think Gyokeres wouldn’t have been given the platform elsewhere? Failed at Swansea but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t have gone elsewhere.

I never get these loyalty comments - clubs regularly throw footballers on the scrap heap when they’re not good enough, it’s not all a one way street

Same with managers. Mickey Adams turned down the chance to speak to West Brom to stay with us - worked out well for him didn't it!

It's a prime piece of real estate. It is going to sell for a top price. The value of it is not decreasing by the day either, as we are now essentially at the auction stage where we will get the most money. Maybe after the window yes, but that is very unlikely to happen. We don't need to reduce the asking price by 15 million because of it.

Honestly, the desire to cuck for a derisory offer is getting silly.

I think some are struggling to know the value of what we're selling. That already outweighs the expiry date. As the astute businessman you are, I'm sure you know that though.

Ideally Sporting up their bid to an acceptable number and he's sold quite soon, I don't like how people are souring on a player who's been an absolute revelation for us for the past two years.

We could comfortably hold on to Vik till January without loosing his value.

Some team in the Premier league's bottom 6 will comfortably fork out 20 million if they are staring at relegation and need a goal scorer. Waiting till the end of the season is no good if your relegated by then.

This is why I think the agent is pushing hard publicly. We are led to believe that numerous clubs are interested in Vik, but have any made any serious bids or made advances to get him, no.

If Sporting are the only club pushing to sign Vik, then Cov can demand whatever they want and Sporting are at a liberty to pay it if they want the player.

Clearly the agent wants other clubs to come into the mix to secure Vik a move.

He's scored 20 plus goals in the Championship. Clubs all over the world will be looking at him.

This notion that somehow he isn't that desirable and we should just give in and take a quick low offer is the biggest underrated bedwetting we have had on here in some considerable time.

Prime real estate goes unsold all the time if it’s overpriced. There needs to be an element of realism in any sale, there’s more to the strategy here than just ‘be a chad alpha and own those virgin cucks’.

I wouldn't risk a bet on it, but I think King isn't stupid. I wouldn't be at all surprised if one day very soon we just hear Vik is having a medical and that's the first concrete thing we hear.

Based on the current squad and likely losing Gyokeres and possibly Hamer, I would have personally offered another year to Rose, Dabo and Tyler Walker but we obviously couldn't give them regular football.
Hopefully the squad will look a bit healthier in the next month or so

Coventry City transfer twist as Viktor Gyokeres 'discusses' seeing out contract

Coventry City transfer news from CoventryLive as the club's most saleable asset weighs up future amid increasing interest from Premier League
www.coventrytelegraph.net

Now, this could make things interesting.

And the text for those that don't like the CovLive site>

"
Viktor Gyokeres is considering seeing out his contract at Coventry City and giving the Mark Robins and the Sky Blues fans one more year at the CBS Arena.

That’s according to respected European transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano who claims the player’s future could be decided in the next “key hours and days ahead.”

City owner Doug King has made his stance clear on the matter that the club will hold out for the best possible price – his valuation understood to be north of £20million for the Sweden international who scored 21 Championship goals last season to help fire the club to the play-offs.

The executive chairman has already rejected at least one bid from Sporting Lisbon who are leading the chase for the striker’s signature, while Wolves, Fulham and West Ham are cited by Romano as the other main competitors interested in his services so far this summer.

Gyokeres has said in the Swedish press that he is ready to “try something new” this summer. The 25-year-old, who was speaking while on international duty last week, also said that he thought Coventry ’s asking price was too high.

King, however, insists the player will not dictate any sale fee and has not ruled out making him see out the remainder of his current deal, which runs until the summer of 2024, and an option which he admits would be perceived as being "a bit mad," given that the club would get nothing for him.

But in a new development, Romano claims that Gyokeres and his agent are yet to make a decision about what he wants to do, saying that they’re considering staying put and leaving the club on a free next summer.

Romano tweeted: “Viktor Gyökeres future, key hours/days ahead. Decision has not been made by player and his camp — potential free transfer in 2024 being discussed.

“Coventry owner, asking for huge amount with just 1 year left on contract. Fulham, Wolves, West Ham & Sporting are ready to push.”

It’s certainly an interesting twist to the on-going transfer saga which would spark mixed feelings among the fans. On the one hand many would be delighted to keep the top scorer for another season in the hope that he can fire the Sky Blues to promotion, but a potential £20m plus transfer fee now would allow Robins to significantly strengthen his side in several areas of the pitch."

I haven’t said anything about him not fetching £20m - I’ve no idea really. I just mean the idea of us compromising on price comes down to more than us just being some kind of pathetic soy boy - it’s a transfer negotiation, not an arm wrestling contest.
