I still think the whole thing is bullshit - in the pecking order of strikers he is way down - behind Lyndon Dykes who is actually shite - this is reality and if he goes it will be for nowhere near what many of you imagine - way below - let reality kick in

He was literally the second top goalscorer in the Championship last season, what on earth are you on about?

A year in the bomb squad will sort his mental health out.

Heard a rumour the deal is pretty far along between the clubs but Vik is looking for big wages so maybe a prem team could come in yet.

He’ll go for between £17-£20m. How much do you think Lyndon Dykes is worth?

State of this thread

Chill out, he'll go for market value, might take a while to get things done but the market is only just gearing up. Take the reports and interviews with a pinch of salt as most are mistranslations.. and frankly who gives a shit what he says anyway.

Relax

Seeing lots of things about Vik, n just giving off bratty vibes.

I'd rather we hang on for maximum money, the windows been open 3 days and he's being a dick frankly.

Emphasis has to be sign Hamer up for 2/3 more years for the inevitable sale.

17-20 M - so you are saying potentially record fee in pounds in the history of the championship for a centre forward ok then. I estimate if he went it would be 5M - 7 M if that - unless you live in made up rumour cloud cuckoo land

I stand corrected I meant from Coventry - but even so he ain’t going for 17M -20M - yes we would all love it but my point is while your all turning on him anyway is he is not going for anywhere near that kind of money

I heard a rumour no Prem team is interested. Andy Turner is Gyokeres's new agent and the only football contacts he has is on Sky Blues Talk. But he is convinced a bigger deal is incoming......

I would think next week especially towards the end of it we will see some movement. MR will have a few things lined up and will be already in the know about Vik and Hamer. Be good to get this put to bed and move on and seriously get the value that allows MR to build a squad to challenge again in the top 6.

We need to focus on our players for next season not the ones that have left or leave.

I get what BackRoom is trying to opine. We at Coventry have no bargaining power so while we talk a big deal, we'll grab the first cheque across the table.

And based on history, I would have fully expected the board/chairman to overrule any of our managers and look for any fast buck, regardless of whether it was underselling the players value. But there is a confidence in and around the club nowadays that makes me think that we'll hold out a lot longer than Sepalla/Fisher/Richardson/McGinnity et al ever did in the past. Other clubs may think we're chumps and will try and bid stupidly but we'll get value from Vik and as has been discussed, probably Hamer too.

Coventry City player 'getting desperate' with transfer situation' - Talks affecting him on a 'mental level' - Sport Witness

With Coventry City star Viktor Gyökeres becoming Sporting’s number one target for the summer window, the Portuguese media continues to feature daily updates on that pursuit. We actually get to see a couple of interesting stories today, as the Lions are said to be completely focused on landing...

The Sporting owner/CEO was reported to say they had the money to be with the Portuguese big boys last week.

And if they're selling Ugarte to either Chelsea or PSG for over £53m, they can afford Vik at £15-20m. Looks like the sticking point is Sporting only want to pay the 20mill in Euros while Cov want the UK pound version He's the wallet man so it's up to him ultimately but Sporting better not wait too long. The £ is starting get a roll over foreign currencies again meaning Sporting will soon be paying more Euros just to get us the same £20m

Ugarte 'changed his mind between Chelsea and PSG' - Sporting president

Sporting Lisbon president Frederico Varandas has revealed how departing midifleder Manuel Ugarte changed his mind between two offers - initially selecting Chelsea before opting for PSG.

Sporting need to understand he’s our player for another twelve months, if they want him as much as is being said they need to shut up & cough up.
