No thanks. He jumped at the chance to move to the footballing giants that are Sheff Utd and his best days are now behind him.

Jumped at the chance to play in the premier league and triple his salary? Gus, you absolute bastard.

thought he’d be back in the prem last season and guessing he didn’t think they’d be where they are this season still one of the best players in the league, why would you not want him

He had a release clause in his contract and no club in the Premier took it up.

Lampard wouldn’t want him

I think if we could get him cheap it’d be a good deal, 10 G+A in 33 games for Sheff U in the Prem, he is a cheat code in this division and the ability to have him rotating with Torp and Rudoni would be salivating.
Although some things are best left in the past is this one of them? Probably as he doesnt look in the best shape never really has so will probably finish his career early, but I’d back our coaching team to smash him into shape and a fit Hamer would be a dream for the Prem

He did what was best for him at the time, and I don't blame him, but he's passed his best now playing for a mid-table Championship side.

Maybe he could get his fitness back and be able to run again. No need to keep his eyes closed as he can't see a kebab house from the pitch.

I have been checking but cannot find anywhere that Sheff Utd owe us £6 million, I can only find that their company accounts state that when they signed Gus they had quite a lot of revenue coming in to sales from two or three key players and they made a profit, after that it went pear shaped and change of owners etc. I did read also the other day Wilder has offered Gus another deal.

Look at you all turning your noses up at last years Championship player of the season.
I can't see it happening myself but I would not be gutted.

Let's be honest, he would undoubtedly strengthen the squad. He can cover all of the midfield roles allowing us some rotation and not seeing a drop off in quality, for me it would be a no brainer if it was feasible.

Unpopular opinion but I think hes a wanker and dont know why hes held in such high regard by people. The way he left us was akin to O'Hare who gets dogs abuse. Granted however we got a fee for Gus

He was a phenomenal player for us, one of the best ever and him and Vik almost dragged us to the promised land alone, but let's not fucking kid ourselves about how he 'loves the club'. He fucked off to the only premier league team who would pay what we wanted, knowing full well he would be back in the championship. And now look, hes in a side 21 points behind us and hes got the fitness levels of Rik Waller. Bollocks to him. Nearly died of cringe when he took that corner last season

Would have him back in a heartbeat, would be the first player I’d sign if we went back up, but I’m talking with very Skyblue tinted glasses on.

I would highly doubt it will ever happen.

Be fun though wouldnt it

15m over 3 years sounds about right. We most probably haven't paid everything for the players we have signed since either.
