Promising player gone but I worried about his temprament and how easily outside factors affect his onfield performance. It may have been partly his age, but I think tooo many things have to come right if he was ever really going to make it to the next level. Therefore not massively disappointed that he's gone, but disappointed that we were unable to persuade him to stay if we genuinely wanted him.

Hit the nail on the head not disappointed that he's gone but just that we could'nt even persuade him to stay

Jesus Christ, how could you "persuade him to stay", for god sake we are not in competion with others and have no cash, why on earth are people so sad at these players departing ? Open your eyes THE CONTRACTS WE ARE OFFERING ARE SHIT, WE HAVE NO MONEY. we have to rely on Thorn, his scouting ablities, his man-management, his decent football tactics,

GETTING THE BEST OUT OF WHAT WE GOT - THATS IT QUITE SIMPLY

Well there is a difference between an anchor man and a ball winning/defensive midfielder. Clingan plays like an anchor man rarely leaves his position and sits intercepts and starts of attacks from his own half, similar to busquets. Gunnarasson has high energy levels, likes to get up and down the pitch and chase the ball. Similar to a Essien, Parker, Fletcher. It all depends on how you want to play the game. I wouldn't describe Gunnarsson as a DM, he is a box to box midfielder.

agreed.

lots of potential but never built on it,a good player but not the end of the world, shame though as he looked much better in thorns last 10 games.

Yeah, I suddenly don't feel quite so resentful about Aron, or anyone else, leaving! It's like me working for a Tory council that I don't trust as far as I could throw-who could blame me for taking any other job offer, especially when I could be unemployed any time soon?
