First 11 games, we should be on 20 points and in 5th but thats another story.

As we have yet to beat a top 10 team the next 3 games will be a good marker for us, Orient, Wolves and Wallsall 1st 3rd and 10th, think these games will gives us a good idea of whether we can expect a to make a real play off/promotion challenge or be settling for mid table, which given the -10pts start wouldnt be a bad thing.

Whats your thoughts, points expectation from these, for me 7 points from these would be a result, beat Wallsall draw to Wolves and a tight win against Orient. Wishfull thinking?

To be fair i think your being a bit optimistic, 4 is probably a bit more realistic, as for the playoffs, a good showing against them three will get us close, its early days but with a limited inexperienced young squad maintaining good form for the long haul may prove difficult.

Ahh well, i thought after a good win it might be worthy of a discussion rather than the repetitive OCD egotistical slagging matches in every other thread.

Lol guess i was wrong :) not the first time, not like you would go to a football forum to talk football.

Have a good day!

id take 6pts from next 12,anything more would be huge.

Agreed, in fact I'd take 4. We need to not get carried away and realise we've beaten no-one of note yet.

If we can get something from the likes of Wolves or Orient then maybe we're looking good, but from what I've seen against lower teams, I'd be worried about playing a side that can punish mistakes.

yeh i agree top teams will punish our defensive frailties

however we should have beat preston and came close vs orient, vale and crawley, all 3-2 losses,so we are not a million miles away from being truly competitive in this league.

From the next 3 I would take 3 points now.
Our defense is far to fragile. We threw away the game against Port Vale & done our best to throw it away yesterday.

Saying that pleasing start to the season, I think majority of sensible City fans would have taken this position at the start of the season

Interesting site.

The attack and defence rankings (particularly at home) are telling.

I am a bit of a sucker for stats. The site is a gold mine and a real time waster :)

4 points wuild be ok in the big scheme of things with Wolves obviously being a toughy, and Orient scorig plenty. But yes, a great start to the season, and really lokng forward to the trip to Walsall (first live game for me this season)

Next 3 games will be the marker I agree. Play off challenge or mid to low table will be known after October very possibly. I think 4 points would be good and cant be sniffed at as Wolves are miles better than us lets be fair and will put us to the sword Saturday (hope im wrong btw, just my football brain talking) Orient we could win and at "home" could be enough and Walsall are a solid league 1 outfit so draw. If we could muster 2 wins out of the next 3 then great or 3/3 of course but 3 losses is possible here and cant be overlooked.

skybluelee ...... To not think Wolves aren't streets ahead of us or quote me "miles" then I would like some of the stuff you obviously take as its very good. This isn't having a go at my team as I love CCFC with all my heart and want to thrash Wolves Saturday as I will be there and we can win I just don't think we will that's all as they are "miles" ahead. But I seem to remember shocks can happen in football. To sum up Wolves have premier league players and a bigger budget and a better stability than us i.e play in Wolverhampton. Yes I would call this miles ahead.

I would be happy with 6 points, okay our defence is shaky but our attack is awesome at the moment! We have the two most inform strikers in the league who do not fear anyone. On our day we can beat anyone in this league, i certainly done fear Walsall and Orient.

The trouble is Covstu if the goals dry up as they may do as surely teams will get onto Clarke and Wilson like rashes and stop them fairly or not fairly our defence will concede silly cheap goals. Whats your thoughts?

But i think it is the fact that we are playing such 'gung ho' football is why we are poor at the back, the back four had little cover from the midfield as they were pushed so far up the pitch. I think you can always say the goals are going to dry up but if we play one up front and packed the midfield, we would concede as many (bar silly freekicks!)

Okay lets examine the next 5 games:

(A) Wolves
(H) Orient
(A) Walsall
(H) Notts County
(A) Bradford

We have played Orient twice already this season and I would say we have been very unfortunate in both fixtures not to come away with a more positive result on the score line, but the way we played especially in the League Cup game should put us in a good place for Orient.

Wolves and Walsall being are two main derby games this season, followed by a massive contingent of the Sky Blue Army, will be enough motivation, Wolves only just scrapped past Sheff Utd recently so if we can replicate the first 60 mins yesterday in these two fixtures we can give ourselves a great chance at getting positives results, especially with Leon and Super Cal firing like they are at the moment.

Notts County will be another tough game, but they have had a sticky start so if we can maintain a positive run up until that game I can see us taking all 3 points.

Lastly Bradford, if Nahki Wells is still injured by then we have a huge chance, I think we might come away with a point but that would be better than nothing.

So what I hope for is:
(A) Wolves - 0-2
(H) Orient - 1-0
(A) Walsall - 0-4
(H) Notts County - 3-1
(A) Bradford 1-2

What I expect:
(A) Wolves - 1-1
(H) Orient 2-1
(A) Walsall 1-3
(H) Notts County 2-0
(A) Bradford 2-2

Wow you must get disspointed a lot as a cov fan if you expect the next 5 games as you predict RoboCCFC90 those results. 11-15 points and no losses lol I admire you most certainly but really? (don't want an argument just want a debate)

LOL!

I see the way we play KOK and I believe it's possible just need to remain consistent, if we can do that then anything is possible, as I have said we have in my opinion been the better side over two games against Leyton Orient, with our strikers firing on all cylinders like they are, coupled with that, 3 of the next 5 are away fixtures in which we will take a very good following then I have good reasons for my predicitions :) Of course it's not an arguement many people might think I am on the pop, but I am positive.

3 points at Wolves please City and lets go from there!

I have only been gutted three times watching the City this season, Crawley in the first fixture, at Vale and against Brentford when they executed their game plan perfectly, other than that win, lose or draw there are positives to take from all the fixtures and considering everything it could have been a lot worse.

RoboCCFC90 gets a medal from me. I share your optimism as I genuinely believe we are a top 8 club in this division and that means that playoffs are a serious chance. Without the -10 points then bigtime game on, with it it could just prove too much sadly but that's where the fans suffer as we know.

Play-Offs should be the aim SP is doing the right things by trying to keep the players grounded and aim for small targets to help us move forward.

The ten point deduction sucked big time, however we have made such a good start and realisticly nothing is won yet, the play-offs aren't out of site. We would be 5th without that deduction and we are only 9 points off Rotherham if we can keep the bounce and positivity going we will keep climbing this league. Southampton and Leeds did it, why not us too?

we are palying orient 3 times in 3 months?

how come the 2 league fixtures are so close to each other?

We played them in August in the League Cup, then twice this month in the JPT and League, then we play them in January, if we get them in the FA Cup I will be sorely pissed.

Personally I don't care about cups as never going to win one so I look at it as follows: we wins cup games and with our bare small squad we play more tough games and injuries suspensions and tiredness are all major factors and I genuinely believe that going out to Leyton Orient in both cups has certainly helped us win the amount of games we have. I care a lot about the league and I believe with you RoboCCFC90 that we can sneak a playoff birth. We have to sign a few players and have to stay lucky with injures and get a few jammy results but that's football. Short term I think Wolves will easily beat us especially with the premiership quality of sako coming back for them but after that Orient and Walsall I see more. The next 10 days are crucial only in terms of play off chance or not.

Nothing is guaranteed in Football, I think we can beat them.

If the Sky Blue Army are in full form (which I plan to ensure) then anything is possible.

You have to be an optimist supporting City, I allways see everything thru sky blue tinted glasses as bad as it gets still try to see the positive for us.

(A) Wolves best defence in the league looking at the tables not players, in 3rd, lets see us screw their GA up :)
(H) Orient top of the league, maybe we will get what we deserve this time. cant see it
(A) Walsall City win
(H) Notts County would like to think comfortable win :)
(A) Bradford think we will be lucky to scrape a draw

10pts from 15 which is around what we are averaging right now.

If you took our current pts from games played 11 games 20pts x 4 we would be on 80 -10 pts with 2 to play, i would take that with 2 games left, playoffs with a slim chance of automatic promotion. Add in lost points from games we should of won, we could seriously look to auto promotion, we`ll know better come christmas.

Sky Blue tinted glasses :)

Why are you talking to yourself like you are someone else in the first paragraph?

And I think it was a bit harsh to talk about football not being discussed on this football forum when I suspect (not done a scientific analysis) there was more football discussed on here yesterday than at any time in the last 5-6months.
