What are people's objections to buying at the turnstiles? Surely it's easier anyway.

Actually physically buying tickets should really be a thing of the past surely. That said I purchased my season ticket in person as I was at the arena park at the time - it took 10 minutes.

Some people like to pick their seat. Alternatively as it is £2 cheaper to buy online that probably has an impact too.

I think it's more the principle. They tweet all the time about buying in advance and saving money, and yet they allow tickets to sell out 2 days before the game. It's just a bit amateurish.

I don't get the problem really. Online ticket sales have been open for weeks, if you've left it until Xmas Eve then just pay on the gate.

People always find problems. I don't think I have ever had an issue buying tickets online.

When you buy on the gate you get no choice of seats, who the fuck wants front row bar the mad hatters.

And anyway............

They may have to sit next to you!!
That will put a few off

I wouldn't care where I sat as long as I could see the game. Anyway, back in my day, (old fart talking!), I would pass my 2/6d (12½p) over at the turnstile and go and stand where I liked (depending on what gate I chose - Spion Kop, West End etc. None of this "Let's close down block such and such" bollocks!

I think that most of the "regulars" probably do.

Boxing Day is generally up there with the highest gates in the season. That suggests that a good number of non-regulars will be there - or at least will be thinking of coming.

I think that the question is whether it's unreasonable to expect the club to make a (fairly minimal) effort to make it as easy as possible for these folk to but a ticket? Who knows, they may even decide to come again if they enjoy themselves.

Then again if this was a few years ago before online ticket sales it wouldn't be an issue, so it isn't really an issue now just a minor inconvenience.

Hope Vale bring more than 1000 and the sun shines as we could see a huge walk up of City fans.

Hope I'm wrong but fully expect it to be a bag of shit tomorrow. Long queues at the turnstiles, not enough blocks open, not enough food and drink outlets open and bedlam at 1/2 time as the smokers have to get 1/2 way round the stadium to get out. It won't encourage people to come again.

Be careful today, Vale fans are a right nasty bunch. Lots of trouble the past few times we've played them.

Wasn't it last season where some of them tried to climb across the dividing black sheeting over the seats to get to the City fans in Singer's Corner?

It was both a surprising and ridiculous, because it was only a handful of them.
