Mmm, how long is an "interim" period. And why are they talking that way if we are definitely in admin and ripe for the plucking.

Can someone clarify for me, cwr are reporting that the FL confirmed the location of the golden share, mercia are reporting that they FL have just confirmed where they think it is, which we already knew. Which one is correct?

As for moving out of Cov I don't think the plan to move back, as far as the FL are concerned, needs to be that detailed. I imagine a 'we're building a new ground and have identified potential sites, should be completed in 2 years' would probably be enough. You have to remember the FL aren't activly looking for problems so unless there are huge alarm bells don't expect them to do too much.

It confirms in my simple mind that Fisher really f**cked up this golden share location. He hasn't been seen or heard of since admin, and this could be why, SISU have found out the magnitude and extent of his incompetence, which I presume will cost SISU many millions with now no hope of them getting any of it back

Ok...I spoke to JE about this on Saturday and he said Quote: "The Golden share is in CCFC Ltd but holdings however has some player registrations/contracts".

I think a number of issues have arisen during this debacle that are not fully covered within FL rules which perhaps have saved our bacon a bit.

Not only the Football League, but the Football Assoc. have said the "Golden Share" is with CCFC ltd. CCFC can only go out of the "Coventry Area" for a very minimal period.....Come on PH 4th, fill ya boots son!!!

It ain't over yet.

The court case about State Aid is really important. Preston Haskell won't look at buying into the club whilst ACL has a potential £14m charge hanging over its head.

It could be a positive.

Let's assume that SISU's action has some validity - even though they appealed against the 10 point deduction "after taking extensive legal advice", only to drop the action 2 or 3 days later....

If so, the council may see some immediate benefit in unwinding the loan and possibly even their ownership of ACL. If they were minded to do that, a "friendly investor" might receive a more positive hearing than might have been the case otherwise.

State Aid.................no impartial court is going to see it like that, it will be proved that they were simply stopping an unethical attempt at distressing a company they part own by despicable actions of non payment from a delightful hedge fund !!

Only SISU would have the temerity to take someone to court for what they believe was tantamount to breaking the law; when that action was only necessary as a reaction to their own unlawful actions

Someone pls put this In simple terms for me?

Is this good or bad news and does it affect a future takeover by PH4?

I'm sure someone will tell me if I'm wrong, but I think if PH4th buys share in Ricoh, and makes a winning bid on CCFCltd. we can possibly stay in football league with the "GS" and form another CCFC.

No - on the contrary. I'm merely pointing out that it ain't over yet, you're setting yourself up for another big disappointment if you think otherwise.

Nothing in the law about ethics mate. It's state aid. Would it be acceptable for a council to come to the aid of any private company who was subject of 'unethical' action from another company?

Lets hope that happens, but be prepared for more nonsense from SISU

They will probably dispute the Golden Share Location and threaten the Football League with legal action.
SISU or their funds are also probably the biggest creditor of CCFC Ltd, this means they may be able to block or delay the sale of CCFC Ltd
Depending on how we exit admin we are also looking at a potential 15 point deduction!
I'm hopeful things are working out, but it ain't over yet. Be prepared for more weirdness.

Fernando was pointing out a potential pitfall, and something that could be a problem.
How does that make him a Sisu Fan??????????????????????????

I could fekkin weep, some of us appreciate the full facts and complexities, and I for one am glad of his input.

Exactly what Full Facts are you talking about then Moff?.....Or are you talking about his opinion of what might happen.
I could Fekkin weep at some of the "Potential Pitfalls" of life itself, ffs!
@fernandopartridge........What is the other disappointment I am in for then?

What have we actually learnt today? That the FL believe the GS is with CCFC Ltd? We knew that was their position already. That any move outside the city would be temporary? Well, we also knew that too because their position on such matters is common knowledge.

I hope there is more to this that I'm seeing and it is the beginning of something, but I won't be holding my breath.

The misery naysayers will be heard.
I think, however, it has at least gone beyond sisu In/out polarisation. Now the consensus at least seems to be when they have gone will we learn from what has happened?
Let's hope so, hey?

@ theferret....

You obviously haven't learned enough mate.
Both the Football League and the Football Assoc. don't believe the GS is in CCFCltd....They say IT IS IN CCFC.ltd

Just picked this off a Stockport County fans forum.

Just info on their understanding of the golden share:

While we wait for any sort of good or bad news on the Melrose take-over, I thought I'd just find out a little bit more about this 'Golden Share' the Football League seem to enjoy going on about.

News-wires have been reporting a lot recently that County still can't be taken over blah de blah 'until the Football League agree to transfer the Golden Share.'

So just in case you're wondering what this actually is, while we wait in anticipation...

It's basically a considerably large sum of money (probably just a bit more than £800k) that has been building up through TV rights and the like. Seeing as though we're in administration and everything, the Football League keep hold of this money until either

1) we exit administration or

2) April of this year, when the Football League will distribute the Golden Share whether we exit admin or not.

However, the Golden Share is more than just the money side of things. This luck Golden Share outvotes all other shares in the business, meaning that whoever is vying to take-over the running of the club (in this case, the Melrose Consortium) cannot do so until the League hands it over - meaning, basically, it's our right to be a Football League side.

When Melrose does assume control of SCFC, the money in the Golden Share will be distributed to whichever teams are concerned to pay off all footballing debts. The Golden Share will then allow Melrose to take over the running of a club, and allow us as Stockport County to remain a Football League side.

Simple. Sort of.

Just something to get your head round while we wait and wait and wait, for this bloody deal to go through.

Animo Et Fide.
