That end of July we knocked back £2.5M....I wonder what happened in August.?

Postponement of 3 home games costing close to £1m lost revenue.

On top of that a pitch repair costing god knows how many 100s k.

Really dont think we would gave sold Htam had it not been for shambolic pitch situation.

THE PITCH SITUATION HAS FUCKED US PLAIN AND SIMPLE in August any plan went straight out the window.

Compensation from Wasps should include the difference of Hyam fee. Yes I know its not gonna happen but it's a reality of the pitch situation that's caused us to sell at all and sell cheap.

If the owners can't plug the temporary shortfall then really there's no point them being here-any one of us may as well take over if there is no ability to inject funds even via loans.

We were told the financial situation was perilous long before the pitch issues

Can’t disagree with this. The one bit missing though is a potential buyer willing to pay what SISU want. This is likely to be influenced by wasps/stadium situation which is still playing out

Who would touch the club with everything that's gone on recently?
Surely the pitch malarkey would have put off any sensible buyer even if all the other baggage didn't.

Fortunately Clint, the January transfer window is conveniently placed shortly afterwards!

Given the current world economic situation. Do SISU need to realise some assets for their investors? If so, that might be a reason why they are not able to provide a short term loan [albeit at 17% interest].
Secondly, the Wasps Holdings situation looks more perilous with each day that has passed with no refinancing.
Could we see the stadium be available for sale within the next 3 months?

I've long said a player will clearly be sold in January.

O'Hare, Hamer, Gyokeres and Sheaf all go into the last year of their contracts next summer, and as the former three presumably won't be signing extensions, January offers the only chance for the club to maximise their values.

I guess the other problem is we have not shifted Kane or Walker either and seems we are not going to

Kane's op didnt come at the best of times. Any differences need to be resolved and get him playing again so there might be interest in January.

I couldn't see anybody being interested in Walker at the moment. He needs to get his head down and reboot his career - starting with finding some form and confidence in the U23's.

Agree - added to which we have a lot of players coming to the end of their current contracts next summer. Potentially, we will have a very high turn over of players, which will provide both opportunities and risks. Lets hope our recruitment team are going to perform exceptionally well.

If we were proactive we could schedule in a series of home friendlies to keep players fresh and bring in some extra revenue. Capitalise on the extra interest in football which usually happens around World Cup time.

Meanwhile on the supporters forum tonight, they'll be asking questions about the shirt sizes and if the JSB party is on.

I literally haven’t heard or seen a thing about this. I could start a thread saying Leeds interest in Vik and this place would go nuts.

Exactly, which is why any parties will probably wait until the wasps situation is clear. This unfortunately means we need to find a way to tread water financially until then, I’m guessing the sale of Hyam was part of this (collateral damage). Only guessing but that’s how I see it

While the idea is a decent one, would we really wanting to be playing on that pitch more during the winter months when there's already rugby going on? We could run the risk of injuries if it's deteriorated again and the pitch will need as much rest as possible.

Would also have to have agreement with Wasps and all the other bodies like police etc.

I imagine most Championship clubs will be planning friendlies anyway, can't see them wanting to go back right into the league calendar with most of their players having not played for a month.

None of us know but logic suggests if SISU had the cash to loan they’d be better off doing that with high interest, rather than sell players at an undervalue which diminishes total value of ‘their’ assets and impacts performance on pitch…which in turn also damages value of club !

Edit - does anyone know the likely correct value for Hyam sale ? I know 1.5m has been banded about but didn’t Nixon say above 2m and it’s also been mentioned they’d bid 2.5m before. If it was the higher values then it’s a fairish price rather than a fire sale price

Alot (not all) of clubs in this league would have made distressed sale of one player (which is what the Hyam sale was).

Yes agreed that this messed up scenario could only happen to us!

You just cannot legislate for income of £1M plus in August some of which we will never get back due to midweek re arrangements in winter and then find 500K for pitch improvements. Leaves you £1.5M shortfall which is alot of dough.

Its a different arguement if SISU were likely to put their hand in their pockets and bridge the gap.

And i get no one has any sympathy for SISU.

Its a tough one as he is 30 but seems to be hitting his best form/entering his prime now. 20 goal a season striker at this level if he can stay fit, going off BBD going for 8.5m, realistically I reckon between 2.5-3.5m.

and yes when I said 5.5m earlier I was taking the piss
