Have been some incredible goals this season…and maybe some more to come…but my current favourite has to be Toro at home v QPR.

Had to work for a few hours before the game…during the end of my shift I quickly checked my email…there was something about us buying the ground or something? Drove down the M62/M18/M1/M6 in a state of mild hysteria! Was this really happening?

Reader, it was.

The game itself was played in a atmosphere of mild hysteria. We were 5-0 up at half-time! Torp’s thing of beauty topped the whole unbelievable day off

Simms v Boro the clear winner with more than 50%.

Ticks a lot of boxes tbf, as others have mentioned- set us up for a crucial win at our (then) nearest rivals, great assist, a finish no one thought Simms had in his locker and the Boro fans thinking it was going out for a throw in.

7 games for someone to better it.

Any chance there's a season long compilation of all goals somewhere online.

84 goals looks to be the highest we've had in a season since at least the 1960s, and I couldn't find any information for any season earlier than that.
I tend to only remember best the most recent games not something from 6 months ago. Remembering 80+ goals wasn't a problem I anticipated at the start of the season, but a happy problem to have.

Prob not til end of the season, but happy to be corrected.

Far and away the best season for goals since The Jimmy Hill era.

The 'Old Five' 1930s look fun:

Aye, good on you lending me your link so quickly.
Assuming the records are correct, last scored 84 goals in 58-59. Four times in the early to mid 30s (like you said above) had 100 or more goals. What a stunner 1931-32 must have been--108 goals scored and 97 against, 42 game season.

Highlights,
Mental.
Lost 2 home games all season, only won 1 away game all season.
In this week's Quantum Leap, Sam has to go back to the 1930s to stop a lower league Midlands football team getting promoted, and inadvertently changing the course of the 2nd World War. Luckily, travelling with him from the 1990s is a small red headed Scottish coach, who vows to turn the side into 'entertainers'.
