So today I woke up reminiscing about the old GMK forum on Rivals. Did a quick Google search and it seems a lot of you are on here? The general consensus amongst most City fans is that Sky Blues Talk is for the weirdos, divs and looneys, I think it might be my spiritual home. It's hard to believe that I used to bring in a half decent salary by doing no work at all and posting on GMK. Did it for years too. Come on then, own up you old farts, who was a regular 'contributor' on GMK and what colour are your knickers?

Oh and by the way, my password isn't 'coventry' still. They were simpler times.

Never ever went on there.

Was it any good?

No it was a load of rubbish. We did have a nice little community of like-minded, shite-talking schizophrenic posters though.

This wasn't exactly the home-coming I'd hoped for. I'll pop back in another 10 years and see if there's any change.

Nice choice. I've gone for a natty blue-on-blue checked affair today.

Don't say that. Say that words 'boxers' and 'affair' and I'm thinking back to Ron the plumber and my missus.

Leaky tap my arse!

I lurked on there but could never be bothered to sign up, was always funny though. Why is there no other site like it i.e. having all club's main forums together in one place and only needing a single sign up to post everywhere??

Anyway, I'd always assumed manbat (and others) were here... just under a different name.

Yes manbat I was a Gmk user.

Some great moments on there use to love some of killers arguments

Anyone remember the time a copper spent a couple of hours online answering questions during his shift?

Wasn't that Royston?

I remember him saying he was a cop and then everyone took him to task for several hours on all sorts of topics.

I used to love GMK. Was on there as Cambridge_Skyblue at the time.

It was a lot darker than this generally but hilarious. Gutted when it shut down, but this place isn't too bad.

The old Rivals days were class too, used to go on other forums and give them shit constantly.

I miss the old GMK days. Even miss the odd interjection from Hackney.
As someone else said, it was often a lot darker than here, but it wasn't a problem as we were like minded individuals.
I like SBT, but I certainly don't get anywhere near as many laugh out loud moments as I did on GMK.
There were times that being an administrator was a complete pain in the arse!

What's worse on here (and not just blaming one person) is that you get these eleventy billion page threads where the likes of Grendel argue and argue and argue and argue and it is all very humour less, dull, without wit and just constantly 'worthy.'

On GMK there would be an injection of witty banter at some point and it would be worth reading as a result. Light and dark. Shades.

This on here at times is just like a legal slanging match in a court of law and incredibly, mind-numbingly, tedious drudgery as a result.

There were times I was in tears at some of the stuff in GMK. It was a great mix of wind up merchants and wierdos but it still had enough football talk to keep casual readers happy. I agree with Otis about this forum being the opposite. Gmk was an asylum where as this is more of a library.

The minute knowl took ownership it went to shit. There were far too many admins with axes to grind who dumbed down content and the server issues meant it was very up and down. Eventually he must have just stopped paying the hosting fee to keep the site up.

I never posted much on GMK just like I don't on here and use both mainly to keep up with a fan's viewpoint whilst living so far away. I know he could be grumpy and a wind-up most of the time but there were a couple of times citizens_arrest had me laughing out loud and in tears

There was one admin who seemed to have an axe to grind. The only time I ever deleted anything was when it could have landed us in hot water legally. Other peoples radical opinions or insults didn't bother me in the slightest, but ending up in court did.
